This is it! The last proper weekly shot! I can't believe how close we are to meeting our little lady! Everything is ready for her and we really can't wait. I've been dreaming about the moment she's put on me, I really can't believe this is happening!!! 5 days! That's it, 5 days!!
I've not really been up to much this week. Just a bit of shopping for AP, visiting friends and family etc. I did have an appointment with a midwife on Tues, a bit worrying, my protein, glucose and heart rate were higher than usual. Luckily when I went for my pre-op assessment the next day all was fine, phew! Oh, and she hasn't turned. It's funny, all the medical staff get so hopeful, prodding my tum, getting the scanner out, they just don't believe me when I tell them that she's defo not turned and that she's just being stubborn like her mama and dada! I can feel her pretty little head (even though it really doesn't feel little) under my ribs and those feet on the other side tapping away, that and her bottom wriggling on my bladder, cheeky chops she is! :)
Oh I really am so excited!! 5 days! Wow! I can't wait to put her in her little outfits, in her Moses basket and cot! Can't wait to hold her and see what she looks like! What parts of mummy she has and what parts of daddy. What her skin tone will be like (she's gonna b 1/4 black and 3/4 white... olive skin)?!? If she's gonna be a little chubba or a skinny miny! In some ways 5 days seems sooooo long!!! Will be keeping myself busy seeing people otherwise I think I'll go crazy!!!!

As you can see... no baby yet...
What a week! It really has been crazy. So I went for my ECV (baby turning) on Friday, and all I can say is OUCH! Well, I can say more (and of course I will)! We got there at 8 in the morning, felt strange being there so early, the sun wasn't even up properly yet :s Anyway, as soon as we got to the delivery sweet we were told that they were under staffed and we might not be seen, to go sit in the (dull and dank) mothers room, if we're not seen within two hours to come down and tell someone, GREAT! In fact we only sat in there for about twenty minutes when the sweetest midwife came and rescued us from that manky room. She showed me to a bed and hooked me up to all sorts of monitors. After that we still had to wait ages for the consultant to come see us (can you believe this is the short version of the story).
When he did come, he brought his troops with him, seriously! He brought, himself (obviously) his assistant, a trainee consultant, another doc (not sure what she was a doctor in) AND a trainee midwife. The next part was really horrid :'( The consultant and his assistant lowered my bed, stood over me and manipulated my tummy and Apple Pip into positions that just didn't feel natural to either of us and the pain!!! Woh! If you walked past the room you would've thought I was in labour, so much pressure put on us. And I hear you ask how I knew Apple Pip didn't like it, well she kept slipping out of their grip and placing herself snuggly in her normal position.
SO.... I've now been booked in for a c-section on the 16th :) At least we know when we'll meet our baby girl now, and we are so ready for her let me tell you!
The next day Mum and Julie asked me round for tea.. Well, they were actually throwing me a suprise baby shower! Now baby showers aren't a typical English thing, but my aunty in America really wanted me to have one, so between her, Julie, my mum and my chums they through an amazing shower for me! I was totally overwhelmed by all (well most) of all the lovely woman in my life doing this for me and the presents... WOW!! Apple Pip, you are one spoilt little lady! :) I can't wait to see her play with/wear/use etc all the gorgeous things everyone got her!
THEN.... my mum had an op on her eye on Monday :( scary, but she did great and is healing really well. It's a long story why she had to have the op, but let me just say it's v important coz otherwise she'll end up totally blind. So one eye done, one to go!
Yeah, other then that I've been doing more washing (of AP's clothes and bedding of course), not sleeping, seeing friends for the last time before becoming a mamma, oh I forgot, also saw my friends baby on Tuesday for the first time and he is GORGEOUS!!!!! Ten days old and perfect! They're both doing well and starting to settle into life together :)
What a rant! sorry all! Well, only 12 days to go (if not sooner), therefore one more offical weekly shot and one that I'll do before going in to meet my baby girl!

Breech!!!! She's Breech! Had my 34 week check up last Fri (even though I was actually 35+1 really) and the midwife wasn't totally sure which way wee AP was lying. So she booked me in for another app for this week, went in yesterday and was prodded this way and that for ages! This midwife too couldn't be 100% sure what lumps were what and said, and I quote my 'abdominal wall is very strong' Wahoo! So this is why they couldn't work out what's what. I was sent for another scan which showed v quickly that yep, her head is right up in my ribs!!! So this is why I've been squirming like a worm every evening, coz her head is head butting my organs! Cheeky monkey!
I was rather proud that I'd worked out her exact postioning before getting the scan, head under the right side of my rib cage, bottom by my belly button, legs going upwards, with feet near the left side of my rib cage :) She's basically a 'V' shape with her arms going across to her legs. Also that the placenta is on my left side, never feel kicks over there.
Soooo, I've now got to get myself into some funny yoga positions to try and turn her natually, go to an acupuncturist and possibly a reflexlogist. If these things don't work then it's back to the hospital to get her turned by a consultant :s I have a feeling this wont work because, and I quote once again... my 'abdominal wall is very strong' :) ha ha!!
Anyway, only four weeks till my EDD and one week till I'm full term :) things are looking good! Can't believe I'll meet this little one in no more than six weeks!! Happy happy happy!!!!
I miss my hair :( I'll come back to that.
Look what I've got!! Thank you so much Georgia! It was lovely to hear that I'd won one of Georgia’s gorgeous sets, but look!!! I got the one with the gorgeous hat! Everyone I've shown it to loves it and says how pro it is :) hee hee! And Thanx to the wee clips I now feel slightly more girly considering I feel like a boy with my very VERY short hair :( If you don't already follow Georgia's blog , DO IT NOW! She's takes gorgeous pic's of her even more gorgeous kids and her writing is wonderful!
I had to cut my hair, but I wasn't expecting it to be this short :( As I can't colour it, Julie cut it down to my roots, which I thought had grown out more than they had, so many tears have been shed :'( I miss my big fro!
Anyway, Apple Pip news, nothings really changed apart from more growing, oh that and I'M IN MY FINAL TRIMESTER!!!!! So exciting! Between 10 and 14 weeks to go! So exciting! We've been bombarded with deliveries for our little babba, including the cot bed and awaiting our bugaboo chameleon! It's so pretty, and can you believe I've picked out a pink one?! I know, I think I'm turning! I do like pink (not that you can tell from my bed covers), but just not too much pink, that's all!
We also received tons of goodies from one of my work colleges including a high chair, clothes and lots of real nappies! So kind of her considering we hardly had a conversion before she went on maternity leave! And I now feel a part of the 'mummy club' as she's been giving me great info about what products are a waste of time, what to grab now and where to look for great second hand treats!
Weather is shocking! What's going on!? It was Hubby Hall's birthday on Monday and normally we can go out for a little walk or a picnic or something, but OH NO!! Too blinking wet! Grr! But I'm going to take him out for a romantic meal soon to celebrate his 31st, yep, 31st, that and our 6 month wedding anniversary! :)
Feeling much better this week :) I've been signed off by the doc, who was really worried about me when I had a panic attack whilst talking about work :s He was brilliant, signed me off no question. He was rather concerned by my high heart rate, but it calmed down after he got me to calm my breathing down and close my eyes for a little while :)
I have stretch marks mummy marks!! AH! I'm not feeling as bad about them as I thought I would. They're around my appendix scar, I think they'll be an added feature to that area after A.P's born :) hee hee!
We had our second antenatal class on Monday. I really am the Monica (in friends) of the class. I bet they all hate me because I answer most of the questions the midwfie asks. About half way through I really had to bite my tongue, before I got stared out! It was about pain relief and labour this week. The midwife showed us the Epidural needle, yikes!! I really really REALLY hope I can cope without that evil looking thing! My plan is to use TENS, birth pool and gas and air. I'll consider pethidine or diamorphine too, the last resort will be an epidural, particurarly as that means I'd have to be transfered from the birth centre to the hospital via flashing blues! :s Be strong Stacey!!!
I've really been craving chicken the last couple of weeks, strange considering it's one of the things I went off in my first tri! I never go to KFC, but I've sent Ben off a couple of times now to get me some finger linking goodness! Yum yum!!!

Can't believe how bad my hair looks in this pic! :s But I'm not well and don't care (as much as usual)!
I'm off work today. Have a horrid chest cough and just can't face it today.
In fact, I've hardly been at work really. Pretty crazy! I went to the birth centre on Friday to go through paper work so I can give birth there. Had a few tests done while there and the midwife booked some workshops for us. She measured my tum and said Apple Pip is measuring a week big! :) That's my little chubba! After all that worry that I wasn't that big for no reason!
On Tuesday I went for a gestational diabetes test. Grr! They mucked me about, had to wait an hour for no reason! Well, the reason being the nurse who called me in had a mouse voice so didn't hear him! How ridiculous! AND I had to fast for the test from 9.30pm the previous night, till 12.40 that day!!! Apple Pip was not amused, kicked me non stop! Anyway, will get the results of that and some others on Monday, when once again, I'll be missing a bit of work, bummer!! ;)
I'm getting a wee bit nervous now. One of the midwives from the birth centre gave me a buzz yesterday coz she wanted to talk about Apple Pip's breech'ness. She moved my turning appointment to next Friday as there was a bit of confusion over lots of things, one being that I wouldn't be full term on the Weds, but would be on the Fri. She also told me the risks of turning.
1, Well, that it wouldn't work.
2, That the pressure would make my waters break therefore labour would be/would have to be kickstarted.
3, It would distress AP and I'd have to have an emergancy c section.
AH!!! Scary thoughts! We're not ready yet! So today will be another prep day, most of which will consist of washing her cutey clothes, getting the hospital bag ready and working out how to put the car seat in!
I went to the acuptuncturist yesterday, interesting... I somehow forgot that I HATE needles, silly me! But it wasn't so bad, I did feel rather relaxed. She also did this thing called moxibustion...YUK it's this stinky stick that you burn, smells like a mixture of cigarettes/cigars and weed :s not nice. You hold it by you baby toes and is meant to get the baby on the move. I now have to do it twice a day for twenty minutes, well, Ben has to really as I'm finding it increasingly tricky to get to my feet!
We did it for the first time last night, gross gross gross! Our house now has the smell of a stinky 70 a day smokers house :( but hopefully it will do it's job and turn AP round before next Fri so I don't have to go for that app! If that doesn't work, surely these yoga poses, music stimulation, light stimulation, massages etc will do the trick right? Right!?!
FULL TERM!!! Wow, I can't believe it! In ways time has gone so slow and others it's whizzed past. When I think back to when Ben and I first found out I was prego, wow, it feels like years ago! Plus I can't remember what it's like to not be pregnant! On the other hand, thinking how quickly I got prego once we decided we wanted a bub and all the things we've done in the last year, I can't believe how quick times gone.
There is a teeny weeny chance that this could be my last weekly picture as I'm getting this little lady turned tomorrow :s and as I've said before, there's a small chance that I'll have to have a c-section or my waters breaking. I really hope my waters don't break because that means there would be a high chance of Apple Pip being born on Halloween! Ah!
So far I've been rather lucky, no extra stretch marks and appendix scare still looking good... lets see what the next few weeks hold in store!
Well, it's been a very tough week this week. My manager has been making my life hell. Talking about me behind my back to my colleagues, moaning about the fact I've taken time off for classes/appointments and a few days off sick! HOW DARE SHE!!! Not only that, she had a HUGE go at me in front of the same work colleagues as I DARED to offer to cover someones break! AAAHH!!!!!!! Anyway, I decided yesterday that I wont be going back on Monday, I was going to stay another two weeks, but she's really stressing me out, even ended up in the loo's balling my eyes out, heart pounding, blood racing, just not what you need when you're pregnant :(
On a happier note, we went to our first antenatal class on Monday, which was ok, was proud of myself as I knew most of the info the midwife was giving us :) hee hee! We also went to an active birth and labour class on Thursday at the birth centre, and again, proud to say, I knew most of the info :) Feels strange, before these classes, everything was about the pregnancy, now it's changed to labour and new borns! Must be getting close!
Apple Pip is still very much on the move, in fact, at our Thursday class we could actually see her move across my tummy! Looked so strange!
6 weeks -2 to go till my EDD!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hair's getting longer!! :)
Yawn yawn! Went back to work yesterday :s I didn't realise how out of the work zone I'd been! Luckily only another 7 weeks and 1 day till I go on maternity leave, hurrah!
I haven't really been talking about the downer bits of my pregnancy lately, this being because the postives have SO out weighed them, but I think I should talk about both sides. My sciatica has been playing up for a while, rather annoying! I look like an old woman when I'm hobbling around, clutching my hip/bum cheek, yelling 'ouch ouch ouch'! Rather embarrassing! And the insomnia, woh! When will it stop?! Thinking that will stop, then sleepless nights start! Oh well!
Anyway, back to the good stuff! We got our bugaboo! So gorgeous! But now it's in my mums lock up where I can't see it, boo!! Not only that, but we bought a maxi cosi car seat off of gumtree, bargain!! It's spotless! I'm constantly on ebay and gumtree now! Love it!
Going to the birthing centre to do all my paperwork confirming I'm going to have Apple Pip there! Slightly worried though, as I saw that only 64% of first time mums stay there while the others get transfered to the hospital :s mostly because they wanted an epidural, hope I'm not one of them, particularly as the hospital is only five minutes away from my place and the birth centre is about twenty!! Be rather annoying to be transfered basically back home! But hey, I would get to go in a real ambulance with the blue lights flashing!! (I did go in an ambulance after we had a car crash, but it was a car one, not as impressive)!

Only 11 weeks (ish) to go!
Well, I've been a bit lax in the last few weeks. Finding this prego stuff a bit hard lately, not helped by my non sympathetic manager :( not long to go though till my maternity leave, so trying not to let her get to me.
Anyway, here's my bio oiled tum with my heavily kicky bubba inside!
My GP says we have an active baby! Yay!! I went for a check up on Wednesday and everything is looking good. :) Doc Lowe gave my tummy a prod, and Apple Pip is a good size! My heart rate is normal and A.P's is strong. It was rather funny when Doc Lowe was getting ready with the doppler, she was asking if I felt kicks, my reply being, yep, she's kicking now actually! She then put the doppler on my tummy and a second later we heard a huge "duff!" Wow, said Doc Lowe, a right little kicker! She even wrote in my notes 'Very active baby' :) Well done Apple Pip!
Yesterday we arrived in Wales for our weeks holiday with Mum and Julie. In this pic you can see Mum's pup Moss wondering what on Earth I'm doing! Hee hee! The house we're staying in is gorgeous, so the kind of house I'd like to live in if and when we have the money :) Can really see Apple Pip and her bro(s)/sis(') running around the place coursing havic!
Well I've been having issues with my laptop and it's been driving me crazy! But all is well again so here's last weeks picy!
A rather samey week, nothing major has happened, I did get the results of my tests, all clear, no horrid things going on :)
Apply Pip is getting riggly again, there was a patch of time where she was only giving soft little pushes, but she's back to full on kicks, punches and bum bashes! I've been noticing how she's been lying, felt her back, bum and head, in fact I feel them regularly! It's very exciting! I'm starting to get impatient now, how knows what I'll be like in a few weeks!

So, in my last prego shot, I was saying how I was gonna get on and pack my hospital bag and put the car seat in Ben's car, well, I was a bit lazy and decided I'd do it the next day. Then I got a text from my friend at work who was (past tense giving you a clue here) 8 days more prego then me... she had her little boy that evening!!!!! I had to read and re-read the text a couple of times, I just couldn't take it in... I then burst into tears! Ben thought something terrible had happened, I tried to explain through the sobs that they were tears of joy!
She managed to stay at work till Friday, left work at 3:30 and her waters broke at 5:30!!! How crazy is that?!? She gave birth 24 hours later to her gorgeous gorgeous boy, no name as of yet!
I guess that explains the picture above! Yep, I've now packed my bag, car seat is ready and Apple Pips clothes have been washed and ironed, moses basket is in place with it's linen prepared! All we need now is Apple Pip!! But that could still be weeks away! 5 1/2 at total. That's AgeS!! Come on AP! We wanna meet you!
