I continue on my crane making journey. This particular one is made from paper Gloria received from friend after a trip to Japan. It has the most wonderful, soft texture to it which makes it all the more beautiful . . .

Creamy Dahlia
Here is another still life that draws its richness from a texture in the French Kiss l’Artiste Collection. Leslie Nicole’s painterly textures add a lovely touch when your goal is to create an impressionistic look. As with all of the still lifes I’ve been capturing lately, this one was shot in front of a stark white backdrop and Photoshop’s Multiply blend mode made it easy to replace the white with the coffee tones. I also used Adobe Camera Raw’s Adjustment Brush to add light to the center of the dahlia.

I did a TON of work to this to get this look! I did use a rub on action for the text, but I inked the edges myself. I used the multiply blending mode on all of the layers except for the original photo layer on the bottom. I used a lot of brush work, and actually, in one of the layers, I selected the brudge, and deleted it from the layer below, so that the bridge wasn't any more darkened than it already was. I love how this came out, and I hope you do as well!
