Kamioka was once a big mining town. Now the mining operations have mostly been given over to physicists studying neutrinos. There is a lot of info on the web about the Nobel Prize-winning studies that have been done here. This is shot in Hida Kamioka's City Hall. The object, used for studying neutrinos, looks like a silver orb.
