The degenerative autoimmune disease known as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects a tremendous amount of people every year. As tissues are attacked by the body’s immune system, it destroys the coating that protects nerve fibers, or myelin. If the sheath is damaged, messages transmitted along the nerve can be slowed or halted, causing a variety of complications. Symptoms can include body weakness, slurred speech, lack of coordination, and electric shock sensations with neck movements. While there is no cure for MS, there are multiple treatment options available to you. Apart from medications that can curtail symptoms, there are some lifestyle changes you can make as well. Exercise, eating healthy, avoiding heat, and even meditation can help relieve stress. For more on MS and associated treatment options, visit www.FindaTopDoc.com today!
