PCA 156 Catch the Wind
Assignment:
The goal of this assignment is to capture an image that conveys the blowing of the wind.
What It Took:
First I tried out some shots in the evening with a larger exposure, but mostly the subject came out too blurred.
So I combined three consecutive shots into one (all 33%) one with soft light, one with hard light and one normal. I cloned out some grass on the right side which otherwise would have touched the border.
Spring winds blow in ancient stories
Told in gusty, gritty voices,
Raw from their persistent, insistent itinerary.
They leave lay the heavy,
And gather and disperse,
Gather and disperse,
Whatever is light enough to carry their tune -
Particles parsed from stone and duned,
Seed pods herded to hollows to steep.
The winds sift and stir,
Sift and stir.
We breathe in this wind along with all that has ever been,
Breathe out our exhaustive, caustic consumption of what has
never been,
Ever twirling around in a dust devil dance with our dawning demise
Into the dust-bunny bins of earth's corners. DH
