Police have arrested two people in connection with a fight that led to a bullet being fired through the front door of a Spring Grove home Sunday.
Keenan R. Queen, 18, and Shannon R. Lytle, 21, remained at the McHenry County Jail Tuesday morning on charges stemming from the weekend scuffle, which injured two men and a woman, police said.
Spring Grove Police Chief Thomas Sanders said the situation remains under investigation and more charges are anticipated.
Queen, of the 22000 block of Morton Drive, Lake Villa, is accused of using a gun to repeatedly hit three people in the face, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court Tuesday.
Queen is charged with aggravated battery, a felony offense typically punishable by two to five years in prison.
After the fight, Lytle as treated for minor injuries at Centegra Hospital – McHenry, where police said she began smoking marijuana on hospital property, before kicking a security guard in the face and hitting a nurse, a separate criminal complaint stated.
Lytle is charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor offense.
Details surrounding what led to the fight were not immediately clear.
According to 19-year-old Reggie Banks, the night took a turn when Queen asked to visit him at a home in the 1900 block of Main Street Road. Banks described an ambush situation involving Queen and a person he didn't know, eventually leading to the a single pistol shot firing a bullet into the kitchen wall.
Banks said he suspected Queen and the other person thought they could get money from him. Police could not confirm why the fight broke out or how the gun was discharged.
Sunday wasn't the first time either Banks or Lytle have found themselves in compromising situations that led to charges.
Banks currently faces a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a Dec. 12 situation in which he's accused of repeatedly punching another man, who was restrained at the time, a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County court shows.
Lytle had been out of jail for less than two months when police arrested her Monday, according to public court records.
Lytle appeared in court Friday on felony charges accusing her of biting, kicking and spitting at Spring Grove officers in February. She had been out on bond since Feb. 14.
The charges against Queen are the first he's faced in McHenry County since turning 18 in December. He has no public criminal history in Lake County, where he's from.
McHenry County Assistant State's Attorney Robert Zalud declined to comment Tuesday on whether his office planned to file any gun-related charges or if a pistol like the one Banks described had been recovered.
Bond for Queen and Lytle is set at $50,000 and $1,500, respectively. They must post 10 percent of their total bond to be released from the county jail.
Lytle is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, when a judge will tell her what rights she has, and she could be appointed a public defender.
Queen is due back before a judge Friday.

A ladybug crawled over the quilt I was displaying at Dean & Friends 5th Annual Show & Sale! I kept taking pictures as she was constantly on the move. With so many photos, I got "Ontario Wanderer" (flickr name)'s to give me technical assistance, so I could have this new quilt!
"What my mother teaches me are the essential lessons of the quilt: that people and actions do move in multiple directions at once."

The room was illuminated by both window lighting and florescent lighting of ~3500K. I WB'ed for the florescent lighting and the window lighting cast a blue tint on the front of her face. Funny how our eyes don't perceive this but the camera really picks up on it.

Photo: Thursday evening I went back to the forest near my house. I just love the forest energy around me when I walking down a path, it is so still and quiet. Looking forward to exploring again soon.
My May blood test results remained mostly the same as April. My M protein (specific measure of cancer levels) remained the same at 20. It is difficult to get an accurate M protein value with my particular type of multiple myeloma, so we are also looking at another more general measure, called an igG, to get a more complete picture of my progress. The igG showed a slight increase (22.7 -> 25.8). However, as my cancer levels have not spiked again, there will be no change in treatment.
I’m focusing positive energy on good results for June. Feeling content.
M protein (g/L) (0 = no cancer detected)
May = 20
Apr = 20
Mar = 13
Feb = value missing (believe similar to January)
Jan 2018 = 13 (began Ninlaro chemo - Jan 8th)
Dec = between 10 and 11
Nov = 8
Late Oct = 9
Early Oct = between 5 and 6
Sept = under 7.7
Aug 2017 = value missing
Feb 2015 (began Pomalyst chemo + dexamethasone) = 36.1
igG protein (6.7 - 15.2 normal levels)
May = 25.8
Apr = 22.7
Mar = 22.0
Feb = 23.1
Jan = 20.6
To recap: On Sunday, May 20th, I completed Cycle 43 Week 3. I have Multiple Myeloma and anemia, a rare cancer of the immune system. It is incurable, but treatable. Since February 9th 2015, I have been on Pomalyst and dexamethasone chemo treatment (Pom/dex). On July 16th, my dexamethasone treatment ended, due to eye damage, as reported by my Glaucoma Specialist, from long-term use. On January 9th I began Ninlaro chemo as my cancer levels have been steadily rising.

This is a multiple exposure of two different photos of the same theme placed ontop of each other. I did this by getting two different negatives and placing them in the carrier together, that way when i exposed them and put them through the different chemicals they came out joined. I think the final effect is clever and i didn't expect it to look as good as it came out.

Class 142 'Pacer' 2 car Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) 142064 as operated by Northern Rail at Shildon Station in County Durham (UK) with a Bishop Auckland to Saltburn service train.
Shildon Station is on the route of the world's first steam locomotive railway, the Stockton and Darlington Railway which dates from 1825 although nowadays the railway is either called the Tees Valley Line or Bishop Line which runs from Bishop Auckland to Darlington, Middlesbrough and Saltburn.
This train was completely overwhelmed by the numerous passengers boarding here who had visited Shildon National Railway Museum and the Great Goodbye Mallard 75 event so thank you to Northern Rail for not laying on extra units and trains to and from the museum as promised.
The Class 142 Pacer units with their atrocious noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) and general ambience levels do nothing to enhance the image of the railways in this area in my opinion.
Class 142's have been in service since 1985/7 and are thankfully due for withdrawal by 2020.
A number of murals decorate the side of a old Beloit Corp. Building in Beloit, WI.. These murals feature some of the employees as well as a view of the manufacturing area. The top area of colored glass is backlit with strob lights at night, making it look as if molten metal was being poured into castings. Beloit Corp made paper making machinery that was sold around the world. Best when viewed on black.
I spent the weekend printing a limited edition, silk-screened print for Random Number Multiples. This print, one of two to be included in the edition, is a stylized radial graph of word usage in the New York Times. My two prints will be included in an edition with two prints from Marius Watz.
Prints are editions of 50, and will be available exclusively through Random Number for $100 each. The online store launches the first week of February and there will be an exhibition showcasing both artists’ work on February 11 in Brooklyn. It will be a great opportunity to see the screen prints framed and in person if you’re in the NY area.
Pre-orders can be placed by contacting info@randomnumber.nu

Now only served by school buses, this stop in Strensall shows evidence of both Rider York and York City Buses fleetnames, as well as the Flagship service branding... though I don't know what the bluebacked sticker on the bottom section would have been for.
