Musée Dräi Eechelen (literal translation: Three Acorns Museum) is a museum in the Kirchberg district of Luxembourg City in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Opened in July 2012 in the fully restored 18th-century Fort Thüngen, its permanent exhibition traces Luxembourg's history from 1443 to 1903.
The museum is housed in the fully restored Fort Thüngen, built by the Austrians in 1732 to reinforce the Fortress of Luxembourg. In 1836 and in 1859–60, it was extended by the Prussians forming part of the outer defences known as the Grünewald Front (Front de Grünewald). As a consequence of the 1867 Treaty of London, most of the building was demolished apart from its three rounded turrets, colloquially known as Dräi Eechelen (Luxembourgish) or Les Trois Glands (French), meaning "The Three Acorns".
In 1996, the Luxembourg authorities approved the development of a so-called Musée de la Forteresse (Fortress Museum) in Fort Thüngen with a view to "illustrating and explaining the nature of the fortress of Luxembourg in regard to the history of the city, the territorial development of the country and the cultural identity of the nation". The museum forms part of Luxembourg's National Museum of History and Art.
Some 600 artefacts in the permanent exhibition illustrate the history of the city and country of Luxembourg from the Burgundian conquest in 1443 to the construction of the Adolphe Bridge in 1903. They are exhibited in a series of casemates (or underground galleries), six of which cover specific periods from the medieval fortress (1443-1643) to the height of the city's development (1883-1903). Two further casemates house a multimedia room and a series of photographs illustrating the city and the fortress in the 19th century. With its striking underground galleries and passageways, the building itself forms an important part of the permanent exhibition. It has been restored to reflect the last phase of its original expansion in 1837.

El Museo Dräi Eechelen funciona en el restaurado Fuerte Thüngen, un excepcional edificio histórico construido entre 1732 y 1733.
La exposición del museo comienza con la Edad Media mostrando la captura de la ciudad por los borgoñones en 1443 y finaliza con la construcción del Puente Adolfo en 1903.
La visita consta de unos 600 objetos y documentos originales, muchos de ellos inéditos, que dan testimonio de la riqueza de la colección del museo. Una habitación especialmente diseñada contiene fotografÃas históricas que ilustran la fortaleza antes y durante su desmantelamiento.
El principal objeto de exposición es el complejo histórico. Su espectacular sistema de galerÃas y minas subterráneas se conserva en gran parte en el estado de su última fase de construcción entre 1836 y 1837.
El auditorio presenta la pelÃcula Luxemburgo 4D que muestra las fluctuaciones polÃticas, económicas, culturales y sociales de Luxemburgo en el siglo XX.

The Communication, Culture and Technology building, or CCT, opened in 2006, is home to the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology which houses interdisciplinary programs that explore communication, traditional and digital media, and technological innovation.
This building also features our premier lecture theatre, the largest on campus, CC1080, which seats 500 students.

The CCT Building is also home to one of two theatres on campus – the Multimedia Studio Theatre, or MiST as it is commonly known, is a modern, flexible space used for multimedia performances, traditional dance, and a venue for visiting artists and performers.

Questa e' l'unica isola del Lago d'Orta, ospita un monastero di clausura, e fin dal Medioevo i religiosi di quest'isola avevano ampissimi possedimenti anche sulle zone montuose dalla Valsesia, tante' che per farli rendere, favorirono intorno al 1200 l'insediamento delle popolazioni Walser; tuttora in queste vallate si parla il loro dialetto tedesco. - This is Orta Island, the only one in the Orta lake; actually there still is a monastery; in the middle age the property of the monastery include also some area in the middle mountains of Valsesia; in order to exploit these properties, the monks encouraged the immigration of the Walser, a German origin population; still now in Valsesia the inhabitants speak a dialect of german origin.

L'isola della Cona è il cuore del Parco Naturale, vicino al parcheggio si trova il Centro visite, composto da alcuni edifici, all'interno dei quali sono state allestite alcune sale con percorsi multimediali, piccoli musei e osservatori. L'entrata alla Riserva della Foce del fiume Isonzo è a pagamento (5 euro) ed è aperta quasi tutti i giorni dell'anno (informarsi). Superata la biglietteria, inizia il sentiero, chiamato del "Mondo unito" che conduce alla foce del fiume. Il percorso si sviluppa in linea retta, prevalentemente sull'argine sinistro dell'Isonzo (sinistra orografica), per una lunghezza di 5 chilometri e un tempo di percorrenza di circa tre ore tra andata e ritorno.

Isola della Cona is the heart of the Natural Park, near the parking lot is the Visitor Center, made up of a few buildings, inside which some rooms have been set up with multimedia itineraries, small museums and observatories. The entrance to the Isonzo River Mouth Reserve is subject to a fee (5 euros) and is open almost every day of the year (inquire). After the ticket office, the path begins, called the "United World" which leads to the mouth of the river. The route develops in a straight line, mainly on the left bank of the Isonzo (orographic left), for a length of 5 kilometers and a journey time of about three hours round trip.

This photo was taken by a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1:4 f=150mm lens and Kowa L1A ø67 filter using Kodak Portra 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
This is a re-edit of a shot taken last year with the original in colour. This black and white style seems to suit the historic Multimedia Exchange building in Middlesbrough. It looks gothic and almost out of an old ghost story
by Peter Reid , Jason Briscoe and Chris Salt.
