Patrick Dempsey co-drove the #71 Multimatic Aston Martin in Friday's race. He got tapped in the rear, wanted to pit, and then decided he'd try it for a lap when the team manager explained he'd be swapped out for his co-driver if he did. Caught the team by surprise when he announced he was coming in due to smoke in the cabin. Turned out the bodywork was contacting the exhaust due to the tap in the rear. Chris Porritt was swapped in, and Chris had some funny scanner chatter in his stint. First, the team manager couldn't hail him on the radio, but Chris finally came on after 2 laps and said it was because the radio plug had been put "in the wrong hole, like she said". Then, he announces he isn't wearing his glasses. The team manager asks with much concern if he has them with him, to which Chris replied "They're in a pocket, but actually I can see surprisingly well".
From my old Wurlitzer electric organ that was found in an alley behind Drake Avenue in Logan Square, Chicago. Had to give her up when I moved, but luckily I got to keep the plaque advertising the Multi-Matic drum machine.
