School 22 celebrated Multicultural Week with an International Food tasting for parents, students and staff. With over 25 countries represented, guests enjoyed art, music, dance and cuisines highlighting the cultural richness of our community.

Arnn Elementary school held their annual multicultural field day on the Sagamihara Family Housing Area school ground May 6. In conjunction with the 78th Signal Battalion, the school had a wide variety of activities for the children to participate in. According to Robert Deverick, physical education teacher at Arnn Elementary, each station has a flag that represents a country and on the back of the flag are some quick notes and anecdotes about that country. From May 21 to 24, Kreuzberg, the multiethnic borough of Berlin, is hosting the 15th Edition of the Carnival of Cultures in Berlin.
The annual show is a "must" in the multiethnic and multicultural capital of Germany. Every years it attracts many visitors. The last 2009 edition was attended by 1.45 millions visitors.
During the Carnival of Cultures, tourists, as well as inhabitants, can experience the unique cosmopolitan, multicultural and passionate atmosphere of Berlin.
The street parade on Sunday afternoon has been the highlight of the festival. The celebratory procession, which lasts about nine hours, featured around 4,500 participants from 70 different nations. Impressive masks, artistic costumes and magnificent floats have astonished thousands of visitors. The creativity and commitment of the volunteers turns the streets into a platform for Berlin's culture scene.
Acrobats, wizards, tight rope and stilt walkers, clairvoyants, percussionists, curiosity marketeers and other wondrous creatures are going to bustle on the green field at Blucherplatz.
Strathcona hosts a wide range of learners from many different cultures. Due to the diversity at the school, each year, school staff host a Multicultural Festival. The festival is one of the main events to honor different cultures and families in the school community.
