As summer slowly comes to an end, I was happy to host my 9th annual Community Summer BBQ on August 21 inside the Richmond Green Sports Complex in Richmond Hill; the fun-filled event was attended by approximately 3,000 guests from various communities.
I sincerely thank everyone that was involved in the production of this exciting event, including: my colleagues at the constituency office, our dedicated volunteer team, our fantastic Emcee, Mr. Joseph Tsang, the excellent performers, as well as, DJ Rick Johnson, our creative face painters and balloon makers, and last but certainly not least, Enbridge for their hard-work grilling delicious hamburgers and hotdogs!
Thank you to all the guests who generously donated non-perishable food items, which were collected by Yellow Brick House.
Moreover, thank you to the local non-profit organizations that provided valuable information about their services to guests:
--Reena
--GTA Faith Alliance
--Women's Support Network (WSN)
--Active-Med Health and Wellness Centre
--Federation of Chinese Canadians of York Region
--Welcome Centre Immigration Services
--Blue Dot
--Mon Sheong Foundation
--Pirooz Centre
--York Regional Police
Events like these are excellent occasions for residents to come together to meet neighbours and make new friends while enjoying an afternoon of beautiful multicultural performances; it is also a great opportunity to connect in-person with my constituency staff.
As the MPP for Richmond Hill, I enjoy meeting members of our community and listening to their concerns, as well as their ideas, on ways we can continue to improve delivery of services by the government of Ontario.
As always, it has been my pleasure to host you at my annual event – I look forward to seeing everyone at my Community Summer BBQ next year!
