……One from a few weeks ago when they replaced the power lines & poles in our street, instead of having 5 single cables running we now have one multicore - a better perch for the birds and great visibility to them too I guess! Staying securely ‘Locked Down’ AT HOME to stay safe and also to NOT be a vehicle to the virus - Covid-19 does not have legs (or wings) Alan:-)

From my Autumn themed shoot with the lovely Neva Moria.
I think I need to stop doing 3 hour long shoots. I end up with far too many pictures from the same session. But I like thee hour shoots. Because I can get a lot of shots from the same session. And when I'm playing I don't want to stop.
What I'm loving about this shoot though is not the great model (she's awesome). It's not the 500w strobe in huge soft box (it rocks). It's not the full frame camera with 50 and 85mm prime lenses (which I love). Na, it's the PC that I'm using for post processing. Way cheaper than a top of the range Mac, it's got more RAM than I can use, two solid state hard drives and a decent multicore processor. What used to take time and effort in Photoshop now happens effortlessly which free's me up to experiment and have fun. I'm far from the finished project. Hell I don't think I could be further. But I'm enjoying the journey and maybe one day I'll get there.

My house appears to be full of boxes of 'old' stuff. Including cables like this....
Audio and computer network cables are often twisted together in pairs as it helps get rid of a lot of interference.

It’s a hot summer’s day on the 24th June 1976 and I am out on Railway business visiting the Harpenden Station Signal Box where the signalman has a number of the windows open. By 1976 the use of telegraph poles and line wires was becoming less common as they where replaced by multicore cables however that development has not yet reached Harpenden it appears. The box was built by the London Midland and Scottish Railway and during the first years of its existence the standard designs of the Midland and London and North Western Railways were used for newly constructed signal boxes. However, in 1930, a new design emerged which combined the virtues of the two types. Features such as the gabled roof and the attractive panelled brick base of the London and North Western type were combined with the large-paned glazing of the Midland. The box contains a contains a 45 lever REC Tappet mechanical frame and was closed on the 21st October 1979 when the area was taken over by West Hampstead Power Signal Box.

La gente joven no sabrá exactamente que es esto... es un 80387. Se utilizaba como co-procesador matemático en las PCs equipadas con 386... que lejanos se ven esos tiempos aquellos, hoy que ya tenemos sistemas multicore y todo eso.
Young people may not remember those chips, this is an 80387 which was a mathematical co-processor for the PCs equiped with an 80386, looks like it was so long ago...
