The bunker mules of Blavand are an endless source of inspiration for me. Created in 1995 by artist Bill Woodrow these WWII bunkers turned into art still fascinate me.

My wife and I first saw this Mule Deer buck, along with his herd of about six or seven, in our binoculars from roadside while driving by. The herd was quite a distance away when initially spotted, about a third to half a mile. We decided to hike through the meadows (zigzagging, to be more precise, to avoid getting the herd alarmed) in order to get a closer look. Eventually it took us almost an hour and we manage to get close enough to take several pictures of this buck and some members of his herd. I also got several nasty mosquito bites as a bonus.
Mule deer in the yard. Deer didnt care about my dog, dog didnt care about the deer. Full frame. No crop. No post processing.

Winter is coming and Colorado has already had its first snow. 2020 was a very snowy winter, and right now forecasts are predicting above average snow for our area in Colorado. Good for skiing, but it can make it challenging for wildlife.

I used to work in this place. Lots of rings for mules which were the pack animal of choice in the mountains once upon a time.
I merged two images here, one was the ring in the wall and another one left over from an old project (ribbons in wind)
This particular morning I was heading out with my kayak to photograph birds and I came across a few nice Mule Deer bucks in great morning back light. It was an excellent way to start the day.

The third deer species we observed during our recent trip, after moose and elk. This handsome Mule Deer buck was spotted casually striding along in Badlands National Park.
When I pulled the car off to the side of the road and slowly exited, he certainly paid attention to me, but didn't show alarm. Just looked in my direction and ambled away.
I'll be off until Sunday -- see you then!
A few mule deer leap away from the click of my Canon on an early morning moment!
This particular morning I was heading out with my kayak to photograph birds and I came across a few nice Mule Deer bucks in great morning back light. I'm a big fan of rim light so this was an awesome bonus.
It's the first time in my long life as a wildlife photog, I ever had the chance to get such a shot. It's not perfect, but I'll keep it. Thanks for your FAV's kind friends.
