Honey poured over fresh fruit with bio yogurt and muesli, small glass of orange juice and a pot of of tea for two is my perfect breakfast and part of my daily routine :)

Typically for breakfast, I have a home-made muesli with seeds, nuts and whole grains, black cuppa, and a dollop of plain yogurt.
But there are times when dark chocolate chips, nuts, seeds, & coffee are enough for morning bird journaling and reading greeting cards.

I was bikepacking a section of Tour Aotearoa, a cycle-touring route that runs the length of New Zealand. The route takes the Timber Trail, a delightful cycle trail through Pureora Forest. I had spent the night in this cloud forest on the upper slopes of Mount Pureora. In the morning the clouds were lifting and the sun was about to break through. My breakfast of coffee and muesli was waiting. The route continued with a long downhill section, it could not get much better.
Gymnorhina tibicen. Apollo Bay. Barham Hill Retreat. This little guy was the best fun, calmly and gently confident that we would feed it every morning, like every other guest had. By the end of the week it'd put a decent dent in my $8 box of Muesli, so it had to make do with multigrain.

Macro Mondays - theme of January 6, 2020: contained
dried fruits of barberry plant (berberis vulgaris / Zereshk) in a bunch of tiny candy paper capsules
[width of the candy capsules: 3,5 cm; the berries are on an average about 6 - 7 mm long]
These tiny berries are rich in vitamin C and high antioxidants. In southwestern Asia the berries are used for cooking (sweet-sour seasoning of rice, but also of fish and poultry), as well as for jam-making.
I love the sour / sharp taste of the barberries and use them to refine salads, deserts and muesli ... or just to snack - hmmmm : ))

Die Beeren sind reich an Vitamin C und Antioxidantien. Sie werden in orientalischen Ländern zum süß-sauren Würzen von Reis, Fisch und Geflügel sowie für Marmeladen verwendet.

I linked this track a couple of years ago, so if you had'nt seen the light and not following then, you may have not seen it. I had my Apple music library on shuffle in the car and this track came on and it always raises a chuckle. I just needed an image to go with it then.
Just think yourself lucky, it could have been Half Man Half Biscuit and National Sh*** Day! Although I do know a certain gentleman, in need of wellies, that would approve of that. 😂

With a false and loose hope, she hung in the doorway like a sheer curtain, barely there and doing little to stop the draft from unsettling the wisps of hair that framed her face. Her bangs had grown out and split at the ends, rough to the touch and in dire need of conditioner. It was a hot and brief stream of water, licking at her back as she stared blankly at the drain. She counted the seconds, the dollars, the grains of muesli in her stale cereal. When she stepped out and embraced herself with a towel, she pulled her mane up into a bun that would no doubt cause another trip to the salon. More money, more time, and more split-ends. There wasn’t even time for conditioner.
