Tools of the trade, I have the SAS (might just be the british army) survival knife which is a piece of plybar sharpened down; more of a hammer than a scalpel though when butchering prey it's good for getting consistent clean cuts hrough bone, I have a little (larger blade than the mtech) Kombat uk folding knife that's made out of great steel, rarely ever needs keening up only problem is the point makes it difficult to gut a rabbit without having to face the stench of a punctured gut with half digested food, or to put it bluntly; liquid faeces. Means you have to be super careful when cleaning the meat too. That hook on the MTech is just rabbit sized so all you do is diamond sharpen it. Like everything I sharpen my on tools, on Ardennes coticule (like the Opinel, resulting in the bevel with little toolmarks my straight razor this evening which I'll do a fine art out of) or my great little Laansky sharpening system, which despite it's cheap finish sports great hones and with the 'super sapphire' hone; an extra you'll have to buy you can get knives that are good to shave with. Only issue is for thin blades the hones make contact with the 'jaws' of the clamp making you foul them if you fail to notice with billet aluminium, which is near impossible to get out of them without lapping them on wet&dry paper.

The reason I sharpen my tools is twofold:

A dull knife is a dangerous one (as you as you'll start doing silly things like 'putting your weight into it', slipping and opening an artery)

I like to know the knife bevel on my tools for resharpening. I can just walk around knowing most of my blades for gutting are set to 20 degrees and my Opinel and decorative broadheads are set at 17 degrees, one thing is set to 30 degrees and that's my SAS/british army survival knife where anything under would go dull in minutes of chopping at brush, even then the steel doesn't seem the best (I suspect it's a cheap chinese knockoff) and it can have chunks taken out of it when its where I reach for my 'Bear Grylls' (seriously stay away from that stuff, it's the cheaply made line of Gerber designed more to be colourful and give people who go on 'survival adventures' in bushes five minutes from the 24h garage their fun in real use it will dull or break quickly then will be useless, it only sells because a man who drinks his own pee and has a 5 man crew follow him everywhere; 3 for filming, one survival expert and one medic) mini sharpener and use the 'rough' carbide side which is so much harder than steel it just strips it off.

Rear MTEC LED license modules plus incandescent tail lamps.
