Morning southerly flow stretched lenticular clouds like colorful taffy over Mt. Shuksan.

Spent a couple of nights at a fire lookout after a clearing storm. Low of -12C but the pictures were worth it.

An attempt at exploring the duality of stillness and movement in the landscape and the imperfection in the simulacra of the reflection... or just a celebration of the beauty of the landscapes found in our wilderness. Regardless, this poem by Li Po sums up the sense of feeling that comes from admiring a landscape like this...

 

All the birds have flown up and gone;

A lonely cloud floats leisurely by.

I finally escaped from the BC smoke out and headed up to see my old friend Mt. Shuksan. There was still a little smoke haze around, but at least I could breath again and Picture Lake was picture perfect as always..... For as heavily as this place is visited, I was just about the only one there....
