For her first day here we went outside to get used to the surroundings. She's so magically photogenic! Flowers were the best way to describe her. She's so fragile and so beautiful. I'm scared of breaking her!

Ayyyy finally got around to doing this lol. I had meant to ages ago but of course my doll family has been changing and dolls have been coming and going, but finally i'm at a point where i'm extremely content with all of the characters I currently have shelled. Of course, they all still need a lot of work and some are due for some body upgrades but I mean I am just very happy with all of the head sculpts they are currently shelled as! Ive mentioned it a million times before but i'm rather picky when it comes to how accurate a sculpt captures one of my characters, but insanely picky about how well they "work" with the other important characters in their story. For so long now its felt like there has always been at least one "problem doll" within my collection that I feel the need to reshell because their current face sculpt just wasn't working out. For a long time I hadn't really felt content or at ease with all of the dolls I own at once, you know? But finally, after saying goodbye to a lot of dolls and after what seems like ages, I'm finally at a point where i'm genuinely happy and content with all of my current MSDs! With these 6, I'm perfectly happy with the face sculpts i've chosen for them as well as how they work with each other and don't feel that constant compulsion to change them as I had felt with many of my other dolls in the past. Of course, there are still things that frustrate me about them sometimes like their bodies or faceups not being exactly what I envision, but just knowing that i've got the most important aspect of them figured out is a huuuuuge weight off my shoulders and makes any other issue I might have with them seem very minor by comparison. I honestly can't remember the last time I felt so happy with all of my dolls and so eager to work on and spoil them since I know for certain they'll be sticking around and none of my effort will go to waste. xD I mean, there are still lots more characters that I plan on shelling in the future, but I'm honestly just enjoying all the dolls that I have right now so much that I think I'd rather focus on spoiling them then adding more dolls in the mix for now, at least where my smaller dolls are concerned anyways haha~
;//w//; I'm particularly so happy with how my little "conflicted quartet" of Faustus, Euclid, Hyacinth and Petra have come together more than anything. I'm sure you guys know by now that i've had an extremely frustrating time properly shelling my main trio of Shu, Calliope and Etzel in the past and I was always SO nervous to commit to finally shelling Hyacinth and Petra specifically due to all the issues I had with Shu/Calliope/Etzel in the past. But having Faustus, Euclid, Hyacinth AND Petra all working out so well it really gives me hope that someday i'll be able to shell Shu/Calliope/Etzel again as dolls just as perfectly~
xD So anyways, despite their proper clothing, body and fantasy parts situations being a mess at the moment, i'm still extremely happy with all these cuties! I've had quite a lot of bad luck in my personal life and have been very busy for quite a while so I really haven't been able to do/make much for them recently, but i'm trying my best to get everything sorted out so hopefully i'll have more time/funds to really spoil them all~ I did FINALLY get around to doing a faceup on my IOS Co, Hyacinth, a little while ago after having him sit around blank for so long, but asdfghjkl he's seriously perfect!! I've been terrible about sharing pictures of him because basically no clothing I own fits him (seriously, what he's wearing isn't his style AT ALL but its the only things I can even sort of fit on him OTL) and I still need to make his unicorn horn (along with Petra's and Halcyon's horns too OTL) but still, he's here! I'll save rambling about each one of them too much for another time though, but yeah, he's SO PERFECT I CAN'T EVEN //shot
Anyway, I also did a quick test faceup on my Soom Trond, who's new name is now Marnie, to get a proper feel for the sculpt as a girl. This faceup definitely isn't perfect for her yet but it did help to completely sell me on committing to keeping this sculpt and making her a girl! ;w;
I also made Marnie and my Doll In Mind Annabeth, Halcyon, wigs! xD They are actually made out of yarn if you can believe it! Yarn is SUPER fun to work with and despite how cheap it is it can actually create some surprisingly high-quality looking wigs! I really have to show you Halcyon's wig up close because it has lot of tiny braids and beading and is honestly probably my favorite wig i've made this far. xD Oh, and speaking of Halcyon....yeah, he has a name now! And I said in a previous post that I was going back and forth between making him bat or dragon themed, and I ended up going with dragon! He doesn't have a faceup or really much of anything yet but don't worry, I have a lot planned for him and he's going to be seriously amazing in the future I think! c: Oh, I've also got some new eyes on order for Marnie and Petra (and Guppy too lol ) by the way!
xD Anyways, yeah, that's the main things out of the way. I'm hella rambling at this point but I feel like this is also a good time to share some of the things I'm planning to work on/get for these 6 in the (hopefully!) near future. As far as faceups are concerned, Marnie, Petra and Halcyon are definitely going to get new ones whenever I can find the time, though that may not be for a while. When I redo Marnie's faceup i'll most likely be airbrushing her face to match Fairyland tan since i'm planning on getting her a tan Moe body from Fairyland. Speaking of bodies, probably what i'll be working towards getting asap is a new body for Faustus. I've wanted to put him on something taller and more lithe for ages now and I'm pretty sure that'll end up being the B45-009 Dollzone boy body. xD I've put it off for so long because Dollzone dolls often takes like 6+ months to arrive and I was kind hoping i'd be able to find one second hand but that never happened so yeah xD. I actually have something pretty special planned for him after I get his new body but i'll tell you about that later when I actually order it. Marnie is the only other one I am really wanting to get a new body for at the moment since this male one really doesn't work for her anymore buuuut she can share Petra's body for now so I may wait a bit on that, we'll see. Other, more immediate plans are to make Petra and Hyacinth unicorn horns since those are super important. Probably won't make Halcyon's horn for a while since i'd like it to be transparent with opal glitter flakes in it so i'll have to cast it in resin if I want to do that which granted probably won't be too hard but I just don't have the tools to do that right now. Also planning on doing some mod work on Petra as canonically her character has decorative carvings along her neck, chest, shoulders and arms. Also probably going to attempt airbrushing her bunny ears, tail and legs sometime as practice for my airbrush setup since I finally got all of the pieces I need for it! Aaaaand the last big thing I have planned is to get a crapton more fabric and other haberdashery nonsense so I can SEW MY DOLLS PROPER CLOTHES OH MY GOD. Seriously, the days of half-naked shelf hobos needs to be over, like, yesterday. Petra, Hyacinth and Halcyon have virtually no clothes of their own because I kind of have to make all of it myself either because I can't find things pre-made in their size or that suit their style. I haven't made my dolls clothes in so long because I just haven't had the time, but as soon as I've got all the faceups I want to do on my dolls done the next big project for me is going to be working on building up everyone's wardrobes because its legit a barren wasteland right now lol
;w; So yeah, those are my main plans for my MSDs for now. I honestly don't have any plans to get any more MSDs anytime soon, assuming that any of the dolls i'm planning to get in the future aren't suddenly going t be discontinued or something. There is an artist's doll that i'm really looking to get though if/when she becomes available again but unless that happens or a rando limited doll I really REALLY want comes along i'm probably safe from smaller dolls for a bit haha.
