Bucket List Item completed....I was able to drive a tram! I am in the main Tram station getting ready to visit the tram I will test drive. So cool...I am still smiling today/I never had imagined that this wold happen but secretly hoped that one day I may be able to and now just a few days before moving to Warsaw I had the chance to do so. Awesome experience and so much fun. Thank you MPK for allowing me the opportunity to do it!

WE 218 grinds out of McGugin Tunnel with 6 units for headend power. A couple of hours earlier they stalled at the MPK 85 and Brewster DS had 610 run lite from Rook to help aide them over the hill.

For the duration of the track renewal work on the Trasa Kórnicka at Osiedla Lecha, service 25 was introduced using one of the bidirectional trams. This was a route shuttling between Kórnicka and Polanka, a journey of little more than 60 seconds. This tram was built in 1969 for Frankfurt and came to Poznan in 2005. MPK Poznan have a number of older Düwag trams which are now used for maintainence of the tram network, such as this former Frankfurt tram dating from 1963.

In 2018 MPK Poznan received 30 of these new Moderus Gamma trams, I must admit I quite like them, although it does mean the older trams in the fleet are being withdrawn.

In 2018 this tram was repainted into this smart orange and cream livery in preparation for the moment it is handed over for preservation. The tram dates from 1969 and looked great!

Besides the uni-directional trams there are also new bidirectional trams entering service, so far there are four in service, this being the second. They wear a metallic green livery rather than the standard colours. Their arrival will no doubt mean the end of the Duwag bidirectional trams.
W 1912 roku na terenie podkrakowskiej wsi Rakowice założono lotnisko, później administracyjnie przypisano je do wsi Czyżyny. Funkcjonowało do 1963 roku, gdy wszystkie operacje lotnicze przeniesiono na lotnisko w Balicach, na zachód od Krakowa. Na części teren utworzono Muzeum Lotnictwa, w innej części powstała zajezdnia autobusowa, wykorzystująca jaden z pozostałych hangarów. Z początkiem lat 80-tych pas startowy został mniej więcej w połowie swojej długości rozebrany pod budowę biegnącej w poprzek dwujezdniowej ulicy Stella-Sawickiego. Wschodnia część dawnego pasa startowego obecnie jest wykorzystywana jako osiedlowy parkin, no i została przez lata dość szczelnie obudowana wysokimi budynkami.
An airfield was established in 1912 in the village of Rakowice, near Kraków; it was later administratively assigned to the village of Czyżyny. It remained in operation until 1963, when all flight operations were transferred to the airport at Balice, west of Kraków. An aviation museum was created on part of the site, while a bus depot—utilizing one of the remaining hangars—was established in another section. In the early 1980s, the runway was dismantled at roughly the midpoint of its length to make way for the construction of Stella-Sawickiego Street, a dual-carriageway road running across the site. The eastern section of the former runway is currently used as a local parking area and has, over the years, become quite densely surrounded by tall buildings.
