I wanted to try imaging with a small imaging newtionian and decided on the
Skywatcher 130PDS at F5 coupled with a Baader MPCC flattener seemed to be a good match with my
Altair Astro 269C cooled camera
I modded the scope with the usual things apart from flocking and painting the seconary, I added
a nice 80mm USB powered fan to the rear to give some air flow over the secondary, adding a dew heater tape also at the primary mirror end with the assumption that the fan will blow slightly heated air up the tube
and not drawing in cold moist air.
I hve my ZWO mini filter wheel housing the optolong LXTREEM and a baader neodymium filter for galaxies and reflection nebula. Along with the ZWO EAF
I am currently using the clear nights we are having althouh not perfectly clear to test the scope
this image is part of the soul nebula 6 subs at 300 seconds each looks like I got the distance right
for the flattener!
