Test of Baader Coma Corrector, default lens position on 6" Schmidt Newtonian scope - full frame, no adjustments. Scope= www.flickr.com/photos/edhiker/4035220795/
Mirror cell moved 1.5" back. Ronchi lines almost straight.
Ronchi lines = perfect with lens 1.5" more forward.
Need to repeat with no coma corrector with same exposure.
Need to repeat with no coma corrector and mirror in original position.
Looks like coma is over corrected, as expected.
Focus X10 using fast shutter speed (try dimmer star). Ronchi focus didn't agree.
For astrometry, put star exactly on camera center mark(how close is it to center of array?)
The VERY wide "safety cut" on Baader barrel causes problems, see www.baader-planetarium.com/pdf/mpcc_e.pdf Mechanical design stinks, has a taper over most of its length. At best, it's a sloppy fit, a very short length of the barrel is 1.995" dia.
I did see "Works well with Meade Schmidt-Newtonian (SN) telescopes" at www.optcorp.com/product.aspx?pid=105-109-172-174-10026 , not why I bought it, but thought I would test... stay tuned.
