CHEVY MAKO SHARK II
MPC – 500
1/25 Scale – 1966
There was an earlier show car named Mako Shark. This is actually the Mako Shark II, although not identified as such on the packaging.
the next mp im getting. it's portable so you can take it wherever you want, because it uses double A batteries. very cool. only $250. it only has 12 pads but its still very good because, you have 4 banks so you really have 48 pads!
t Bought built up from Ebayus about 15 years ago . Weirdly came with a Chrysler corp chassis that does actually fit. Although I did out source that . It now rides on an AMT Torino chassis .
It wasn’t painted when I got it except for sills which were black . All chrome faded . So bought model house chrome, swapped chassis, and added the spoiler from the 69 Cougar
This is a groove which builds on four looped samples from "Il Segno Del Tuo Amore" (1968.)
I added my own “jazz” piano accompaniment, as well as bass lines based on Rhodes keyboards sounds that I pitched way down for a real warm bass sound. Sometimes they double up and sound pretty heavy, but I don’t mind. ;) The piano stuff was fun, though it took a while listening to the loop to sort out the chord progression that fit best.
It took a while to line up the primary samples, the melody with the organ. The original recording also had a bit of pitch variation (like the record or tape speeding up/down slightly while playing) in addition to being real musicians playing. Thus, chopping up the samples to align with a fixed drum machine beat and then syncing that with the drums I added turned out to be time-consuming.
This was made on an MPC 2500 running JJOS 3.13.
