Sgt. Garza, of the 191st Military Police Company, passes out teddy bears called “Battalion Buddies” Oct. 27, 2012, to children of the Soldiers deploying to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The bears are part of “Operation Gratitude” and give the children something to hold on to while their parent is on the yearlong deployment. About 30 members of the North Dakota National Guard will serve on the mission to Guantanamo. They were honored during a send-off at the Fargo Armed Forces Reserve Center. (Photo by Pfc. An old Missouri Pacific boxcar, MP 267733, is spotted on a Union Pacific hump yard job in the JR Davis Yard in Roseville, CA.
This is a commissioned piece I just finished up. The client wanted a more cartoon styled Skywarp. I swapped the head w/ MP Starscream, because the client also wanted the "smirk" alternate face.
I also modified the tail sections of his jet mode to sit on the lower legs (and shortened them up past the tail fins so he could still stand fine while in robot mode)
All factory paint apps were removed and he was base coated with lacquers (matte) mainly House of Kolors paints. Details done in Testor's Model Master enamels.
Jonathan Edwards MP joined bodybuilder ‘Energy Bill’ outside Parliament today to back our call for a tough new law to save energy and tackle climate change in homes and communities around the country. Friends of the Earth is campaigning for the Government’s new Energy Bill - being debated in Parliament now - to be beefed up. That means a nationwide refurb to make sure no one lives in a cold home and more support for councils to cut CO2.
Maryland National Guard Soldiers from the 29th Military Police Company, one of Maryland’s newest Guard units from the western Maryland communities of Westminster and Cascade completed special urban training during this year’s annual training. Commonly referred to as MOUT ( Military Operations in Urban Terrain) the training taught Soldiers how to work with civilians on the battlefield, specialized room clearing procedures and various other law enforcement skills. The 29th MP Soldiers joined nearly 900 other Maryland National Guard Citizen Soldiers as part of the 58th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade at Fort Pickett, Va., June 12-26, 2010. - Event organizer Jordan Mitchell gave background on how the event came together and how the club has transformed from a post-apocalyptic wasteland to a beautiful green space. Also, mentioned that during the planning of the event, some incredible stories came out of the woodwork (e.g., Water Rat costumes from the early 1970s, the Poona Pot Sail/Ski Championship and the Water Rat 10 Commandments).
- Land & Water Acknowledgement by Jimmy Sabourin - in Mohawk tradition, gave thanks to the land, water, winds and rains and talked about the importance of bringing your best self.
- MP Julie Dabrusin - as a member of the neighbouring Windsurfing Club, she hadn't seen the Water Rat from the inside and was amazed at how beautiful the grounds were. She talked about the importance of having access to the water so close to downtown and the importance of protecting it from plastic waste.
- Paul Henderson - spoke for about 20 minutes on the development of the Water Rat and all of the clubs along the Portlands (similar to his Canadian Yachting article). He later cut a cake and showed the members the first membership badges for him, Gordon Norton and Bill Cox.
- Norm Lamb - thanked the 50th anniversary organizing committee and talked about the importance of member-run clubs where so many people dedicate their time for the enjoyment of others.
- Paula Fletcher - talked about the tenacity of the club members for fighting to stay put on an incredible piece of water and land. (She also planted a silver maple tree).

For 50 years The Water Rat Sailing Club has championed dinghy sailing in Toronto's Outer Harbour. 200 members and their families participate in dinghies, catamarans, canoes and kayaks. The volunteer-run non-profit co-op was founded in 1969 and has one of the largest Laser fleets in Canada. waterrats.ca

As with the OOAK MP doll, I used the 2nd edition Mary Poppins head on an articulated body for more posing options. Her dress is from the 3rd edition Marry Poppins doll. I found this one, of all four MP dolls, to be the most accurate to the movie. I enhanced her hat by adding some small flowers and a larger brim. Her gloves, umbrella, shoes and stand are all from the 2nd edition doll. I painted her shoes to match the movie.
