(197/366) Martin supervising the skip delivery. We're signing contracts tomorrow & the removal firm are collecting our belongings next Tuesday so we're busy packing now. Hoping to move into the cottage the next day but if the Wexford end of things isn't quite ready (why do solicitors lack any sense or urgency?) then we'll have to find a pet friendly caravan park to call home for a week.
I'm hoping to move out into my first home next month, and of course I'm packing little Teddy with me ;)
The steppe eagle is a bird of prey. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the non-migratory tawny eagle and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific.
Steppe Eagle feeds almost exclusively on several races of susliks, and especially Little Suslik (Citellus pygmaeus), small rodent related to terrestrial squirrels.
It also may take other small rodents and young terrestrial birds, and occasionally crickets and reptiles.
Steppe Eagle hunts from a hide and often pursues the prey before to catch it. This eagle may hunt by walking, or while flying, by circling and diving. It also waits at burrow entrance for rodents. It captures the preys with the talons.

Moving House 1
Catching up from "moving-house-week" and using packing paper to make origami.
Moving house tunage.
EXPLORE #2
I wanted to record a set of small treasures, mostly given by friends or picked up in Op shops, before they possibly got lost in boxes during packing & moving house. I do think this has a bit of the Dalek feeling about it, and it is the most beautiful piece, about 2 and a half inches high. In the background dimly glimpsed is some of the clutter of preparing to move... Moved 4-5 weeks ago now and has not resurfaced, still a few boxes to go so I remain hopeful.

One only realises that their home and house is full when moving house. The accumulation of things and memories eventually becomes a burden to be shed.
I wanted to record a set of small treasures, mostly given by friends or picked up in Op shops, before they possibly got lost in boxes during packing & moving house. My friend Alison made this glass dish, which I filled with found gum nuts. Moved 5 weeks ago now and these small treasures have not resurfaced. Still more boxes than I'd like to unpack so I remain hopeful.

(207/366) The skip is full, who knew we had so much clutter? On top of this we've taken 8 or 10 bags of clothes, pictures & ornaments to charity shops. We're moving out tomorrow so just our bed to dismantle & the cooker to clean the we're done!
I wanted to record a set of small treasures, mostly given by friends or picked up in Op shops, before they possibly got lost in boxes during packing & moving house. My friend Alison brought me this back from her last trip to France and I love it! In the foreground is some of my homework for Spoonflwoer's (then) forthcomign 'Modern Farmhouse' design challenge. Moved 4-5 weeks ago now and this mini Carmen Miranda has not resurfaced, still a few boxes to go so I remain hopeful.

Have found out that this is a “Cerri art doll” - and comes with different hats! Dangerously close to being collectable...
And so, it starts... The team from Walkers Removals are here nice and early, on time as promised, to pack up the house... 11 years of memories into boxes.... A 'challenging' day ahead...

I shot this old log home through the hole in a steel beam that was supporting another old home. A moving company is in town uprooting these old historic houses that sat on the property that used to belong to General Motors. I have no clue were they might be taking them. The red barn that I shot with the plum tree will also be uprooted and relocated soon. I hope they go somewhere better than Dayton Ohio.
Hi everyone...at last I am back online...Im looking forward to seeing what you have all been up to whilst I had no internet access!

I failed to finish the 52 challenge last year, which was disappointing, but between Covid, lockdowns, major surgery, buying a new house then selling this one three weeks before Christmas, it just seemed easier to throw my hands up in the air and call it done! So the start of 2021 sees me battling the packing and sorting!

Up early today for the removals firm to come and pack for us. Even though they were doing most of the work (thank goodness), it was still completely exhausting! We were on hand the whole time to say what should go where, and were still attempting to gather the things we needed (realised we should have spent more time yesterday on this, not having appreciated quite what a whirlwind of activity there'd be!) - and I made copious amounts of tea and coffee.
They packed and loaded about 90% of our stuff, but thankfully left us all the essentials for overnight - bed, sofa, TV, kettle and toaster. They left mid afternoon and our buyer, Gael, came over at 4pm for a cuppa, and to see how to get to the water meter. Lovely to see her again.
Completely exhausted by bedtime but also still totally wired!
