It was a very smokey day in Banff when I took this photo of Mount Rundle from Vermilion lakes just outside of the town of Banff, Alberta, Canada. I hate the thought of forest fires near this area, but the smoke diffused the light giving some unique and different views.
The cloud formations above Mount Ruapehu were fascinating to watch as they continually changed across the peaks and above the mountain.

Beautiful Mount Ruapehu captured in a multi stitch panorama from the Tukino ski field road.
For a sense of scale on the lower RH side of the image a road can be seen and the small white dots are vehicles.
A gusty wind blowing across the plateau so hence why the slightly higher ISO and shutter speed to eliminate any long lens vibration.

I took a drive down to Marazion in Cornwall last night to get a few drone shots of St Michael's Mount.
I've wanted to get a few views of the mount for a long time and now I have my drone I thought I'd pay a visit after work yesterday.
It was a gorgeous evening and Jim and I got some really nice shots
It is impossible to be anywhere in this part of northern Washington State and not have the skyline dominated by this magnificent sight. It really is that much bigger than anything else around it

This is a shot straight out of camera of our wonderful Blue Lake here in Mount Gambier. Definitely no extra saturation needed for this vivid blue. Despite living here for a couple of years, I have not yet (until today) taken and posted a shot of our locally iconic lake! Being summer, it is at its very bluest at the moment. In April, it goes a very cold steely grey. Then it reverts quickly to this vivid blue colour around November. Reasons for this colour change are still relatively unknown. There are some articles online which touch on the possibilities, but I like the mystery of it! It is an important lake locally - it is the main source of Mount Gambier's drinking water.

I remember the hike up 454 metres high Mount Amos (Freycinet National Park, Tasmania) vividly. A walk through the forest, a right turn, and then - the moment of Om... The granite rock formations are not from this world.
