Ho deciso di dare un'occhiata nei miei archivi digitali, recuperando e rielaborando vecchie foto dei miei viaggi riprese con fotocamere "Point and shoot".

...könnte man das Motto des diesjährigen April-Urlaubs bezeichnen. Bei katastrophalen Wettervorhersagen trotzte man doch wieder mal den Bedingungen und konnte einige Aufnahmen in der Brünner Umgebung machen. Hauptziel für mich waren die Schnellzüge nach Luhačovice, welche im 2h Takt den Kurort mit den Metropolen Tschechiens verbinden. Gleichzeitig sollte auch der neue Star des DKV Brno-Maloměřice unterwegs sein. 754 043 war erst vor gut 2 Monaten von der HU in Zvolen wiedergekommen und glänzt im neuen Design vor sich hin.
Knapp war es und doch klappte es dann beim 4. Versuch. Hier zieht 754 043 der ČD ihren R 884 Luhačovice-Praha Vršovice in vollstem Sonnenlicht durch das Tal bei Polichno.
... ist das Motto der Ausstellung des dänischen Fotografen Joakim Eskildsen im Foto Kunst Stadtforum in Innsbruck. Einige seiner Bilder will ich euch hier zeigen, weil sie so berührend sind. Dieses hat den Titel "after the snowstorm".

Over time, I have developed three mottos for myself when out photographing, and the third is regarding my tripod. I am rarely happy with results caught without it, and always happy with the outcome when using it. One would think that means it would always be at my side. However, life sometimes dictates otherwise.
The dof in this shot is limited in order to avoid camera shake and create an adequate photo. This is a dead tree trunk with open holes. In an attempt to score a woodland abstract without the use of my tripod, certain constraints gave rise to various limitations. Regardless, it presents an interesting result, and a reminder of my third personal motto.

Onder het motto 'Op Weg met de Blauwe 55'ers' organiseerde de TSP op 4 juni 2011 de afscheidsrit van de blauwe reeks 55 van de NMBS. Ingezet werden de loc's 5515 en 5540 van TUC-Rail. De rit begon te Brussel Noord en voerde via Aarschot, Tongeren, Visé, Angleur, Verviers en Welkenraedt naar Raeren. Van daar weer terug richting Angleur en Kimkempois. Vanuit Kimkempois via spoorlijn 36A naar Y Voroux (Ans) en vervolgens via Waremme en Leuven terug naar Brussel Noord. Ter hoogte van het uitrijsein van Raeren duwt loc 5515 de excursietrein richting station, voorbij aan loc 5540. Rechts ontwaren we de ex NS-loc 2454, ex SNCF-loc 662454 van Rails & Traction, thans (2022) loc van de Stichting 2454 CREW.

Some say the mail carrier motto is "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds".
But what about a tornado? The tornado that tore through Mayfield certainly left its mark on the postal system. According to the Paducah Sun, the Mayfield Post Office partially collapsed and lost 80% of its roof. All of the equipment inside was destroyed. However, the mail must go on. A team from Louisville came down the following day to start the clean up process and secure the building. Incredibly, the postmaster said that only one delivery day was missed. Mail would resume the following Monday for those would could still receive it.
Sadly there is no word on when the Mayfield Post Office will reopen. However workers are making repairs on the building and the post office has been relocated to a temporary location for now.

Am gestrigen 6. Januar 2022 war sie nämlich mit der ersten Übergabe nach Oberheutal zu Gange als sie kurz vor Hütten von mir Fotografiert wurde.
Nachdem also nun bereits ÖPNV über die Schwäbische Alb von Schelklingen bis Trochtelfingen wieder stattfindet, ist nun auch Güterverkehr wieder vorhanden auf der Einst Militärisch genutzten Strecke.
Zwar wurden schon die letzten Jahre hin und wieder ein wenig Güter auf der Strecke befördert durch SAB GmbH in Form von Holzwagen, so stellt aber trotzdem diese Neue Leistung ein neues sehr Interessantes Kapitel dar.
Drücken wir allen die Daumen das auch weiterhin wieder viele Züge auf der Einst Stillgelegten Strecke Fahren werden!

Mit einem Sonderzug der InterTourex GmbH war 132 088 am 11.05.2024 unter dem Motto "Elbtalexpress" unterwegs von Aschersleben nach Bad Schandau. Nach Zustiegshalt verließ der fotogene Zug den Bahnhof Bernburg (Saale) mit seinen Formsignalen, während Abellio das Bild mit zeitgenössischem Regionalverkehr „anreicherte“.

A candid street photo or better to say park photo. A group of people walks along the park pathway on a warm summer day. They wear colorful t-shirts with some text printed on them. A girl dreams about Paris. Paris is always a good idea is printed on her t-shirt. A man in blue t-shirt is glad he did not use algebra and geometry today. Another day has passed, and I didn't use algebra once. Everyone to his trade.
Felbrigg Hall
Glory to god in the highest, is the English translation of the Latin motto emblazoned in very large stone letters on the front of the hall. The estate originated with the Felbrigg family. It passed to John Wyndham, who died in 1475, it then remained in the Wyndham family for centuries.
Thomas Wyndham who died in 1522 was a councillor to King Henry VIII. Later residents of the hall included John Wyndham (1558–1645) who was the builder of Felbrigg Hall as we see it today. The last Wyndham of Felbrigg was William Wyndham who died in 1810.
The last owner of the house, before it passed into National Trust ownership in 1969 was Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer. His heir, his brother Richard, was killed in action in the Second World War.
The estate covers around 800 acres, it includes a lake, a walled garden, parkland and woodland.

Deze loc reed ook een keer ’s-avonds tussen Eisenach en Bebra. In de vroege middag van 24 oktober 2009 vertrekken de loc's 41 1150 + 41 1144 uit Meiningen met trein DGz 93355 naar Bad Salzungen.

„Silvester auf der Marienbrücke“ war das Motto der IG Traditionslokomotive 58 3047 e. V., welche mit Sonderzug von Plauen nach Dresden fuhren, bespannt wurde der Zug von 35 1097 und 155 183.
Am frühen morgen des 01. Januar 2020 erreichte der Sonderzug seinen Zielbahnhof Plauen Vogtland Oberer Bahnhof.

Meet Capucine, my new miniature tiger! This 4-month old little lady is discovering her new home and is still quite timid with humans. She hides a lot of the time and often doesn't let me get close. But we are getting to know each other very slowly, we play a lot, and I managed to pet her yesterday. She even purred!
This was one of my Dad's memorable tools in raising my sister and me. We were so fortunate to have been very blessed by him.
So oder so ähnlich lautete das Motto gestern, am 21.09.2025.
Denn er war der letzte planmäßige Betriebstag des IC „Königsee“ auf dem Abschnitt Freilassing - Berchtesgaden.
Nach über 4 Jahrzehnten endet nun eine Ära.
Angefangen mit dem IC Chiemgau, endet sie nun im Jahr 2025 mit dem legendären IC Königsee.
Es ist nicht nur ein Schicksal für alle Touristen, sondern auch für die vielen Fotografen die täglich an der Strecke standen und dem Zug nun, auf seiner letzten Bergfahrt, die letzte Ehre erweisen wollten.
So war es auch kein Wunder, dass das beeindruckende Bergmotiv bei Eisenrichter von Bahnfans aus aller Welt besetzt war.
Jeder wollte sich nun ein Abschiedsbild ergattern.
Da dieses Motiv bereits lange auf meiner Wunschliste stand, begab ich mich ebenfalls dort hin und wurde für meine Mühe bezahlt.
Zum krönenden Abschluss wurde 111 212, die Lok im ehemaligen TEE Farbkleid, zur Zuglok ernannt.
Gemeinsam mit 111 095 konnte sie um exakt 16:53 auf die Speicherkarte meiner Kamera wandern.
Das mir dieser doch so emotionale Tag am Ende doch noch ein Lächeln ins Gesicht zaubern konnte, hatte ich beim besten Willen nicht erwartet.

motto: The City of Five Seasons; the traditional four seasons and a fifth season is the time to enjoy the other four....
unique fact: city hall and the county courthouse are located on Mays Island, an island on the Cedar River. Cedar Rapids is one of only two mainland cities to have their governmental offices on an island (the other being Paris, France).
despite the weather i have always thought of cedar rapids as a great place to live and the best place to raise kids. we have high educational standards, low crime, great midwestern kindness, good cost of living, job opportunity, chicago, minneapolis and kansas city are a 4 hour drive....really the only downfall being the yucky weather we have to tolerate.
and it is a great place to live but this past year has been a huge wake up call for me. i have become more aware for the first time in my life....probably because i have led a somewhat 'sheltered' life. i am so blessed to have wonderful parents who are still married after 30+ years, a great home, everything i always wanted (or at least more than i ever needed), a great college education, i now own my second home at age 29, i own my own business, i'm married, i have two awesome kids, i've been very very very lucky my entire life and i think this has made me unaware of the severity of problems in my own community. i was never exposed to foster kids, homelessness, child abuse, adoption, not on a personal or 'real' level ever, divorce was probably the worst thing my friends had gone through. i've always been aware of others, i have a huge heart and i've always volunteered, helping at nursing homes, delivering food for hacap, assisting at a homeless or woman's shelter for a few days.....but i really did not understand the severity of issues we have right here in our own community.
we always joke about our 'top news stories' and how lucky we are that our biggest problem is people not loading their 'yardies' correctly or that we have a winter storm coming, it's funny but we're lucky, our news isn't filled with mass murders every day, we don't have a lot of crime. well tonight's top news story was 'homeless students'...we have homeless students? a lot of them? yes! we have 710 homeless students in the cedar rapids community school district. what!?!?!?! seven are at my children's elementary school, what!?!?!? some of the schools in our district have as many as 90 children that are homeless. i am shocked, i am sad, i feel so helpless, i feel ignorant....
the sad thing is many (most) of us are only a paycheck away from homelessness, how quickly could we be one of these 'statistics' and we're not even aware of how many people are homeless, or atleast i'm not aware...why do we have so many people living on the streets in a community the size of cedar rapids...what can be done to fix this...no child should have to go 'home' to the streets to sleep in the snow after staying at the public library until close or anywhere else they could find indoors to stay after school. we've had 60" of snow this year, temps of -30 degrees and we have children sleeping out there?!
i don't have an answer, i don't have a solution, i'm dumbfounded and i really feel sick to my stomach, i don't find this acceptable, i don't think its okay, i don't want people to forget about this tomorrow.......i know there are so many problems, so many issues and i can't help every single one but they break my heart....i recently decided to put my passion and energy into families helping families of iowa which is so wonderful and helps foster children (many of the homeless children include children waiting to find foster care) so it does directly relate to this but it doesn't seem like enough. how do we balance helping our own children, providing for them and making sure there aren't other children sleeping in the snow tonight?!
i am shocked, stunned and hopefully can work through to a positive approach to this in the near future....

Onder het motto 'Op Weg met de Blauwe 55'ers' organiseerde de TSP op 4 juni 2011 de afscheidsrit van de blauwe reeks 55 van de NMBS. Ingezet werden de loc's 5515 en 5540 van TUC-Rail. De rit begon te Brussel Noord en voerde via Aarschot, Tongeren, Visé, Angleur, Verviers en Welkenraedt naar Raeren. Van daar weer terug richting Angleur en Kimkempois. Vanuit Kimkempois via spoorlijn 36A naar Y Voroux (Ans) en vervolgens via Waremme en Leuven terug naar Brussel Noord. In Raeren staan de loc’s 5515 met de excursietrein en 5540 bij de uitrijseinen.
Van 20 tot en met 27 september 2009 werd onder het motto ‘Reisen wie vor 50 Jahren’ een drietal jubilea gevierd: 150 jaar Nahetalbahn, 20 jaar Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar en 10 jaar Rhein-Nahe-Nahverkehrsverbund. Het evenement was een mengvorm van een ‘Dampfspektakel’ zoals er tussen 2000 en 2018 in totaal zes in de deelstaat Rheinland Pfalz zijn georganiseerd en een klassieke ‘Plandampf’, met een financiële bijdrage van de spoorwegliefhebbers. Het evenement werd hoofdzakelijk gefinancierd door de twee jubilerende Verkehsverbünde en het Zweckverband Schienenpersonennahverkehr Rheinland-Pfalz Süd en werd uitgevoerd door Revierdampf. Het streven was zoveel als mogelijk het spoorwegbedrijf ter plaatse van 1959 na te bootsen. Dat ging zelf zo ver dat locomotieven werden aangepast en vernummerd naar locomotieven die in 1959 in deze omgeving rondreden. Loc 01 066 van het Bayerische Eisenbahnmuseum verloor haar klassieke uiterlijk en nummer en werd een DB-01 met het nummer 01 045. Loc 38 1301 van de ÖGEG werd weliswaar uiterlijk niet aangepast, maar wel vernummerd in 38 3156. Het zwaartepunt van de activiteiten lag op de lijn Neustadt an der Weinstraße via Mannheim en Heidelberg naar Heilbronn en ‘zijlijnen’, maar op zondag 20 september was de beurt aan de Nahetalbahn (Bad Kreuznach naar Saarbrücken). Er werd vanuit Bad Kreuznach tot Baumholder gereden. Loc 638.1301 van de ÖGEG (ex CFR 230 301) rangeert in Baumholder als loc 38 3156 na aankomst met een extra P trein uit Kirn.

Damit ging mal sogar so weit das Lokomotiven angepasst und um nummeriert wurden nach Lokomotiven die in 1959 in dieser Umgebung herumfuhren. Die Lok 01 066 des Bayerischen Eisenbahnmuseum verlor ihr klassisches Aussehen und wurde eine DB-01 mit der Nummer 01 045. Lok 38 1301 der ÖGEG wurde äußerlich zwar nicht angepasst, aber erhielt die Betriebsnummer 38 3256. Das Schwerpunkt der Aktivitäten war auf der Eisenbahnstrecke von Neustadt an der Weinstraße über Mannheim und Heidelberg nach Heilbronn und ‚Zufuhrstrecken‘, aber am Sonntag den 20. September war die Nahetalbahn (Bad Kreuznach nach Saarbrücken) an der Reihe. Es wurde von Bad Kreuznach bis Baumholder gefahren. Lok 638.1301 von der ÖGEG (ex CFR 230 301) rangiert als Lok 38 3156 in Baumholder nach Einfahrt mit einem Sonder P-Zug aus Kirn.
Van 4 tot en met 6 mei 1998 organiseerde de IGE Werrabahn Eisenach e.V. een Plandampf op de later die maand (van Triptis naar Ebersdorf-Friesau) te sluiten Oberlandbahn. Onder het motto 'Das Oberland voll von Dampf' reden de loc's 44 0093 (DB AG), 52 8075 (IGE Werrabahn), 65 1049 (DB AG), 58 3047 (DB AG) en 58 311 (UEF) personen- en goederentreinen op de lijnen Saalfeld (Saale) - Gera, Triptis - Lobenstein - Blankenstein en Saalfeld (Saale) - Lobestein. Loc 44 0093 (44 1093) van DB AG is zojuist uit Saalfeld (Saale) vertrokken en rijdt met trein CB 67103 ter hoogte van Saalfeld-Gordorf (hoog) naar Triptis. De trein wordt opgedrukt door loc 52 8075 van IGE Werrabahn, die de trein vanaf Triptis naar Lobenstein (Thür) zal brengen, 5 mei 1998.
Vom 4. bis zum einschliesslich dem 6. Mai 1998 organisierte die IGE Werrabahn Eisenach e.V. eine Plandampfveranstaltung über der später in diesem Monat (von Triptis nach Ebersdorf-Friesau) zu schliessendem Oberlandbahn. Nach dem Motto 'Das Oberland voll von Dampf' fuhren die Lokomotiven 44 0093 (DB AG), 52 8075 (IGE Werrabahn), 65 1049 (DB AG), 58 3047 (DB AG) und 58 311 (UEF) Personen- und Güterzüge über den Strecken Saalfeld (Saale) - Gera, Triptis - Lobenstein - Blankenstein und Saalfeld (Saale) - Lobestein. Loc 44 1093 (44 0093) der DB AG hatte gerade Ausfahrt aus Saalfeld (Saale) und Fährt mit dem Zug CB 67103 bei Saalfeld-Gorndorf (hoch) nach Triptis. Der Zug wird nachgeschoben von der Lok 52 8075 der IGE Werrabahn, welche der Zug ab Triptis nach Lobestein (Thür) weiterbefördern wird, 5. Mai 1998.
