Well its been a while since I posted a Gannet photo, and they are one of my favourite birds, so it just had to be done! ;) This being a youngster taken at Bempton Cliffs, time it right and you can have hours of fun there :)

A solitary Gannet preening itself on the rocks off Northumberland's coast - the only one I saw on my boat trip round the Farne Islands this year.

This Gannet thought it had come across a nice piece of nesting material but when it tugged on the end it found that it was firmly fixed to the side of the cliff! It persevered for a while then gave it up as a bad job! Taken at RSPB Bempton Cliffs.
