Taken on Sep 5, 2018 around 3pm...

About 40 minutes after the last photo, we finally saw all the key sites of Dinosaur Ridge. The sky was getting really dark, it looked threatening so we should head back... BUT wait, I need to take a few more photos.

(The main road is Hog Back Rd.)

Here's a little background on the Dinosaur Ridge Trail: Construction of West Alameda Parkway was finished in 1937, it cut into the Dakota Hogback and uncovered layers filled with dinosaur fossils and tracks. Designated as a National Natural Landmark and as a Colorado Natural Area, the section of West Alameda Parkway which contained the fossils is open to pedestrians, bicyclists, hikers, and closed to through traffic. The trail has more than 15 fossil and geologic sites, each marked by interpretive signage.

Thanks for your visit, please be safe and stay healthy!

*No EXIF as I lost all the photos from that trip (really don't know how that happened!), good thing I had posted the better ones on my Facebook account, and thanks to Topaz Lab's Gigapixel software I was able to restore some detail and quality.

A relax space designed for lucky UC Berkeley students in the 1920s, located within the huge Doe (main) Library. It’s still wonderful and open to all— with mysteries, nonfiction, new magazines, book reviews, you name it. The room is open to the public, so long as one obeys the simple rules. A loaded QUBE grain train from West Wyalong AWB to Port Kembla, via Sydney climbs the 1.3 % grade up Morrison's Hill.

This was shot during clearing storm this winter. Winds were too high during this day and it was so awesome to see snow blown wind peaks. we pulled over us 395 and shot this right away.

Eastern Sierra wake up call on a relatively warm spring morning, as evidenced by the unfrozen water. Mounts Morrison and Laurel on the horizon.

Looking down Morrison Street at night, towards Haymarket (you can see the ugly, tall, modern building in the distance, centre left of pic, which is just being finished off - shoved into the area despite objections of the locals).

Another shot with the mini-tripod, sitting it on a junction box by the side of the pavement to get more height

A CSX B880 "George's Creek Turn" loads at Morrisons, MD on the former Cumberland & Pennsylvania main line.

The mountain was named for Robert Morrison, a merchant in the town of Benton, California, who was killed near Convict Lake on September 23, 1871 while he was acting as a member of a posse pursuing escaped convicts from the Nevada State Penitentiary. The lake in the foreground is Convict Lake, Eastern Sierra Mountains, California. Early sunrise.

Although there are no fireworks at Cinco de Mayo which runs thru Monday night this year. With thundershowers forecast for Saturday Night Jim/JP Hansen @ Random…¡ and I thought what better time to go down and check out the new laser light show and possibly catch some lightning too. From the the Morrison Bridge there's not much to see (see first comment below) of the laser light show which is to the North of the bridge and away from the Funtastic rides which are on the South side of the bridge. Although lightning and the 10PM laser light show were both a no show, fortunately the rain made the deck of the Morrison Bridge West approach ramp nicely reflective with Saturday night traffic adding some nice color and motion, and raindrops on the lens adding some interesting flare to the street lights - making the trip not a complete washout after all.
