The Patriarchs are three neighboring sandstone peaks on the west side of Zion Canyon. Each is named after biblical fathers. From left to right (south to north) they are Abraham Peak, Isaac Peak, and Jacob Peak. Abraham Peak is the tallest at 6,890 feet. The white top of Jacob Peak rises behind the orange rock of Mount Moroni. The Patriarchs were named by Frederick Vining Fisher, a Methodist minister who ventured into Zion in 1916, labeling numerous prominent points in Zion Canyon. He decided to name these three peaks after Old Testament daddies, and the titles stuck.

Winter in red rock country brings out the entire color wheel. Early in the morning, before the sun bleaches out the colors in the canyon and brightens the sky, the blues and greens really balance out the bright rocks that pick up the smallest amount of daylight and turn it into fire. It's truly a majestic site, and the key reason there are so many public lands set aside across the Colorado Plateau for future generations to be able to enjoy the splendor.

The temple was the first place to be struck by the light anywhere in the city of Draper, as far as I could tell.
Rio Grande train No. 752 rolls through a rural landscape at Kirby, Utah (near Spanish Fork) on Aug. 26, 1986. In April 1983, Moroni Feed was cut off from Rio Grande's rail network when Thistle and the Marysvale Branch were flooded and destroyed. Rio Grande created a rail-to-truck transfer along the Tintic Branch in Spanish Fork to continue service to Moroni Feed and the Norbest turkey plant.

Mount Moroni is located immediately southwest of Zion Lodge, towering 1,400-feet (425 meters) above the lodge and the floor of Zion Canyon. It is set alongside the North Fork of the Virgin River which drains precipitation runoff from this mountain.
It is named for Angel Moroni, who presented Joseph Smith with the golden plates from which he translated and published the Book of Mormon. (Wikipedia)

The Old Friday mosque is the oldest mosque of Moroni. It is also called the Badjanani Mosque.
I find that the mosque was constructed in 1427/831 AH and the minaret added in 921/1339 AH. (source: www.archnet.org/sites/15056)

This is the San Diego LDS Temple on a cloudy evening at sunset. The lighting and background give it an otherworldly feel. If you ever drive down the 5 Freeway in San Diego, you can't help but notice this striking building. This angle gives a different perspective than usually seen.

I've been meaning to get this book for a while. The only film I've seen Eric Roberts in was in Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight' playing Salvatore "Sal" Moroni. A small role but I never forgot his character.
When I saw this book for the first time, it was the book cover's portrait of him that got my attention (photographed by Walter Chin) and looking at that face, I wanted to know about this man's life.
Curious if anyone is familiar with his filmography cause he's been in "quite a few" films (he's appeared in over 700 films...)
9 foto.
Quick photographic visit of Sant'Eraclio, a hamlet of Foligno, but a village with a long history dating back to Roman times. "The Umbrian territory fell under Roman domination in 295 BC in the same century and precisely in 220 by the censor Gaius Flaminio the construction of the Flaminia road was commissioned, starting from Rome and crossing Umbria, it reached Fano in the Marche and passed right here.
According to the historian Moroni (who lived in 1800) he believes that during the period of the Roman Empire, where St. Eraclius is today, there was a quartering of legionaries and therefore a Statio Fulginas (changing of horses and watering) and this not only because the town was on the via Flaminia, but also due to the presence of a rich source of water located in via Fontanelle and via Fontevecchia.
The hypothesis is based on a legend that wants an execution of three legionaries quartered there who did not deny their faith during the persecutions of Christians under the emperor Decius in 251 AD and they were Eraclio, Giusto and Mauro. "Also in Sant'Eraclio we find a castle that offers interesting photographic opportunities. 9 photos.

I have been trying to get this shot for a while, I've gotten close before but never got it completely centered until this night. I was not even sure I would get the shot. When I arrived at the spot I was scouting I saw nothing but clouds in the direction I was going to shoot. I thought maybe at best I would get a vague shape of a moon behind the clouds but not as clear of a picture as I ended up with. It just goes to show you, you have to keep trying, eventually you will get the shot your looking for.
Esattamente come succede oggi!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Palazzo Moroni - Former Palazzo del Podestà.
The palace was completely renovated in the 16th century by the architect Andrea Moroni, after whom it is now named, and represents one of the most notable examples of style in the Veneto region.
During the communal era, when the position of Podestà was introduced, this role had very specific terms and rules.
Unlike the Council of Elders, whose members were elected and part of the community, the Podestà was required to be a foreigner.
In exchange for lodging for himself and his family and a reasonable salary (about 80 times that of a general laborer), he had to pay the salaries and expenses of a group of 35 collaborators, including four criminal court judges and three soldiers, all also foreigners, who moved to the city with their families for the duration of their mandate.
No one, not even family members, could in any way receive gifts, donations, obtain credit, or purchase property or land from any Paduan, not even accept an invitation to lunch.
Exactly like it happens today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of 4 lion brothers dubbed the "Four Musketeers".of which we luckily saw three Moroni and Sikio & Scarface {Hunter is missing}
He was lying flat on the ground ,looking quit comfy. We did not see him up on his legs but he did give us this upright pose before flopping down into a more comfortable position on his back
