This leaf was crying for me to take it's photo while basking in the morning light! Perfectly color coordinated with the gold speckles in the rock! :)
Exactly one year ago today at the golden hour at a biotope in the Volcanic Eifel.
Panorama from 5 vertical images.
A bright and crisp morning. But clouds rolled in from the north to spoil the rest of the morning though it did brighten up breafly a couple of times from Mid day only to cloud up again at dusk.
I stayed with the fog for one more image ..;) I do like the way it came out. Simple and relaxing.
Happy Sunday. Hope everyone in the Northeast is doing alright with that nasty weather. I saw a few pictures posted on Flickr. It looks really ugly
An earlier Anglo-Saxon monastery from 669 was remodelled in the 12th century with the addition of two tall twin towers.
The church was partly demolished in an act of vandalism in 1805 in order to reuse the stone to construct a new church on higher ground.
Happy Fence Friday
It's almost the weekend. Hang in there ..;) I'm pulling one out of the archives here. Can't believe it's been 8 years since I took this picture. Where does the time go.

At Greenwood. One dog is ahead of us and one behind, but we're all here reveling in the light of a fine autumn morning.
This is a creative edit of a butterfly of the Hesperiidae family. Possibly Hesperia comma or Ochlodes sylvanus. I took the shot in the morning at the forest edge not far from the river, a protected area with lots of beavers, so its a wetland.
Have a lovely day everyone!
Thanks to everyone who takes the time to view, comment or fave this image
Wee signs of spring here with daffodils about an inch out of the ground and wee blooms on trees. I hope the warmer weather continues!
Off to work, will catch up this afternoon:)
Listening to John Denver as I process this Image of the Pier at Newport Beach, California.
Have a Wonderful Day !!
The Balboa Pier is one of two piers located in the city of Newport Beach, Orange County, California. It is located in a part of Newport Beach called the Balboa Peninsula.
The Balboa Pier was constructed in 1906 as a sister project of the Balboa Pavilion. The Newport Bay investment Company wanted to attract lot buyers to an undeveloped spit of sandy land now called the Balboa Peninsula. In order to do so, they built both the Balboa Pavilion and the Balboa Pier. These two structures were built to coincide with the opening of the southern terminus of the Pacific Electric Railway Red Car line from Long Beach to the Balboa Peninsula. The plan worked; multitudes of beach-goers flocked to Balboa, and many purchased lots.
The pier is a popular fishing spot. The fish caught from the pier consist mostly of mackerel and flounder. Additionally, the pilings are home to a large population of starfish that feed on the large colonies of mussels growing there, and are easily spotted at low tide. Fishermen catching starfish by mistake are a relatively common sight.
In the 1980's, the first of Orange County's famous Ruby's Diner restaurants opened on the pier. The 1940's nostalgia-themed restaurant has since become a famous Orange County landmark.
