Morning light and the sculpture of nature

Best viewed Large. Very cold and beautiful morning. 25 sec. exp.

We woke up early on a beautiful Morning and Mexico. Perfect way to start a morning.

This is a b/w neg that I found from my back-log images that I did while I was away, taken over the marshes near to where we live at about 6am one September morning, love those clouds reflecting in the river, adds an atmosphere all of it's own!

The first minutes of seeing the Copenhagen city center, the first morning there, are one of my favorite things. It is one of my favorite things to see a new place for the first time, especially the first five minutes.

It has never been easy for me to post frequently on my blog, so doing it everyday from November 11 until December 11 is a very interesting challenge, sort of a new beginning, stay tuned!! See the first post here: ojodepiedra.wordpress.com/2015/11/11/11-11/

Trees in morning mist

As Sun raised the left side of rocky cliff started reflecting the morning sunlight! Was glad that I work up early although I didn’t expect to see this road but doing a morning hiking! I was the only one hiking that early morning and paid off 😅

An early morning stroll at the beach; cloudy but bright sky, with clouds reflecting in the quiet sea and the sun starting to peek out.

Couldn't ask for more.

Watching the sunrise light up the distant peaks with morning alpine glow at Hot Creek Gorge.

I had gone here to catch the sunrise on a recent trip. A few other photographers showed up and set up around the same area. One of them decided to have his girl friend pose on a little ledge below, I thought it made the scene a little more compelling so I decided to shoot a couple of shots at a wider point of view to see how it came out.

She was wearing a pink beanie which was just a little to much so I thought changing the color to blue helped the scene a little more.

I was thinking of entering this in my camera club's next competition. The theme is "Shadows". I can't make up my mind between this one and my original. See below. Opinions please?

Morning Glory Pool is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Upper Geyser Basin despite being less beautiful than it once was, since large amounts of rocks and trash have been thrown into the pool by thoughtless visitors, significantly reducing the water temperature. The pool used to be filled by rich blue water, with a narrow ring of orange-yellow bacteria only around the edge; now the water is more greenish and the algae band is much wider. The pool is 20 feet in diameter, 23 feet deep, round and symmetric, with a conical vent at the center, and may be viewed from a raised boardwalk that extends along nearly half its circumference. The spring drains westwards into the Firehole River, 100 feet away. It was named in 1883 for its resemblance in color and shape to the morning glory flower.

Recipe and story on my blog: Food and Life in photos

Misty morning in the little village of Wakkerzeel.

I created this triptych from photos I took at the Barbara Hepworth 'Art and Life' at the Towner, Eastbourne.

A combination of 'Brass and String' and 'Project Spring Morning' 1957.

The title 'Orpheus' references the mythical Greek musician and poet who taught the god Apollo to play the lyre. Orpheus was also the inspiration for a collection of Rilke's poetry, 'Sonnets to Orpheus' of which Barbara Hepwoth owned two copies. The poetry may have formed a direct inspiration for these works, as 'Sonnet I' opens 'A tree ascending. O pure transcension/O Orphic song'. Hepworth drew a connection between the material form of the 'Orpheus' works and a sense of ascension, 'I found the most intense pleasure in this new adventure in material - and revelled in the lightness of the poise and delicacy of forms which seemed nearer to the flight of birds and their form in flight rather than to more gravity-bound rocks and humans'.
