Of yellow leaves and gossamer

in autumns that there were,

with morning mist and silver sun

and wind upon my hair.

" And I shall have some peace there, For peace comes dropping slow,

Dropping from the veil of morn, To where the cricket sings,

Where midnights all a glimmer, And noon a purple glow,

And evenings filled with linnets wings "

{William Butler Yeats}

This stream comes from a spring that cascades out from under a boulder high up on the ridge in the distance. It plays it own special music as it tumbles down the mountain where it joins many other such streams, eventually forming the great Vartry river which enters the port of Wicklow 20 miles to the south east.

The lone Mountain Ash stands and watches its passing as it has done for so many years.

A wild and a beautiful place.

I'm still sorting through the shots from Sunday morning. At least you don't get wet knees this time of year, just chilly ones.

Canmore's Three Sisters catch a reflection in Policeman's Creek on a icy morning.

"In 1883, Albert Rogers named these mountains the Three Nuns after a storm left a heavy veil of snow on the northern face of all three peaks. They were renamed the Three Sisters in 1886 by George Dawson and they are referred to individually as Big Sister, Middle Sister and Little Sister. Heavily associated with the town of Canmore in the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies known as Kananaskis Country, the Three Sisters may be the most recognized peaks in the Bow River Valley section of the TransCanada Highway. travelalberta.com

May this first November weekend be a wonderful one.

First light on Mt. Rainier thru the morning mists.

A few more shots from this memorable morning in comments.

Thanks for taking a look.

Happy Friday!

Two exposures here using 8 stops:) sky at 6 seconds, water at 30. Constructive criticism welcomed.

This gorgeous bull moose was covered in frost as he ran the field and jumped the fence just as the sun came over the hills. (this was my leaping, jumping, running tour of the west, smile)

Thank you everyone for all your views, comments & favs....but most of all... for your friendship. ♥

Morning Glories are simple symbols of affection. Those who rise early may be able to watch their lovely blooms open. Morning glory flowers generally curl closed later in the day, hence their name!

When I am down and, oh, my soul, so weary

When troubles come and my heart burdened be

Then I am still and wait here in the silence

Until you come and sit awhile with me...

If you have a strong, sincere desire to live each day to its fullest, you can make it happen.

You won't find it dawdling around the house for the first three hours of your day.

Each ho-hum minute that passes is a minute of our lives that could have been used to change our lives, perhaps even the world.

Morning mist at sunrise..

"Smile my boy, it’s sunrise" - Robin Williams

Sunrise over the canola fields

A stormy sunrise on the Cornish Coastline with the Open Air Theatre of Minack atop the cliffs.

Porthcurno is a bewitching place to be on a dark morning with the waves rolling in. I wasn't sure I would get any dramatic light as I stood all alone on the shoreline, breathing in the fine salt sea air. As dawn approached I tried a number of different compositions and the view in the other direction towards the headland of Treryn Dinas is certainly the best. However, I wanted to try a shot to capture the setting of the Theatre high up on the Cliffs in this direction. The stormy horizon at dawn also helped this view.

Happy Sunday!

Thank you for comments and favs!
