On Day 2 of my stay in Goa we were hunting for some nice secluded beaches in North Goa when we thought we will give Morjim beach a try. We actually planned to hit Mardem beach but time didn't permit and finding one beach at a time was in itself a challenge.
Eventually we reaching here just in time for sunset and it was pretty decent and quiet beach. The sand was of a different color here and it was nothing better than to sit down and watch the sun go down.

The Chapora fort can be seen at the extreme right. Morjim is a wonderful secluded somewhat from the hustle and bustle that one sees on the remaining beaches in Goa.

Vagator Beach is the northernmost beach of Bardez Taluka, Goa. It is located on the opposite bank of the Chapora River from Morjim in Pernem. To the south of Vagator is Anjuna, one of the first hippy haunts of Goa.
Goa is popularly known as “pearl of orient” or a “tourist paradise”. With 125 KM of balmy west coast line, Goa provides you complete tranquillity and serenity bounded by sparkling Arabian Sea.

Blanche and Fitz still live in East Africa - Kenya, while Brenda, daughter of famed Goan hockey Olympian Max Vaz, has been living in Goa since the last few years. Among others, the event attracted quite a few East Africa Goans, including two from Ethiopia - Joscy Fernandes (Siolim) and Eurico (Morjim).

A calm beach, north of most of the crowded beaches of Goa - Turtle Beach is aptly named because turtles come here dusktime to lay their eggs. This is protected territory.

The Vagator Beach is the northernmost beach of Bardez Taluka, Goa. It is located on the opposite bank of the Chapora River from Morjim in Pernem. To the south of Vagator is Anjuna, one of the first hippy haunts of Goa.
Vagator Beach has dramatic red cliffs looking down on the shore and two fresh water springs within a stone's throw of the sea. But Vagator has little by way of seaside accommodation.
Vagator Beach is split into two main beaches by a seaside headland which holds the car park and lots of stalls selling trinkets, clothes, soft drinks and snacks. As you face the sea, on your right is North Vagator Beach (Big Vagator)and on your left Ozran Beach, more commonly known as Little Vagator Beach.
There are a number of places playing to a dance & trance crowd during the tourist season. These include: Nine Bar located just above Little Vagator, Hilltop (a little back from Little Vagator) and Primrose back towards Big Vagator beach, they play different types of trance and psychedelic music from different DJ's from around the world.
Also there are a number of Mediterranean and Indian Cafes/Hotels serving a variety of food and drink. The tourist traffic is predominantly Western backpackers, however it has also become popular with Indian tourists, who particularly come to watch the sunset from the rocks.

Morjim is a picturesque portion of Goa’s 103-square metre long shoreline in the North. The swish and rustle of the waters of the Arabian sea and the Chapora river bestow on it a bountiful catch of choice fish and coconuts as well as beautiful vistas. Hedged by hillocks, which chase the habitated plains and gently dissolve on the pristine beach, Morjim offers gorgeous viewpoints from sea-level upwards Morjim interests different people for different reasons. For sure, it’s a rural place shrouded in quaint customs and traditions like most Goan villages. It boasts about one of the loveliest beaches.
