So I was moping about the apt not doing a whole lot when I decided to stop moping and start mopping! I cleared off the floors of my kitchen and bathroom, brushed the dust from the edges of the floors, vacuumed, then went to grab my mop...
...only to discover that it had no mophead! Curses! I had tossed my mophead out last time and meant to get a new one, but never did!
So then I had to go to Walgreens and get a couple of new mopheads. Here you can see that my mop is once again complete! Wow!
Yes, that is the most exciting thing that happened to me today. :)

very 'chindogu' (useless invention in japanese) but...
cos of ondol (underflor heating) culture, Koreans do spend a lot of
time on the floor, many homes not using western chairs as furniture.
hence, mopping's usually done by hand with a rag and the floors are
SPOTLESS!!!!!!!!!!! i do it now and it's not as hard as it looks and
you can really tell the difference.
this floor lifestyle biz is fab cos it makes the room feel much much bigger with
the absence of furni-clutter. ok, maybe not so convenient for mini
skirted ones & me with a gammy knee and all, but still...
the expensive looking pattern does shout out a certain Korean style,
like Burberry on the oddest things sold by Itaewon street vendors . ^^Â
Having issues with my 365 photos; guess my relatively mild insanity is preventing me from uploading some shots.
Most of the time I watch slight men from Nepal or Punjab drag one of these across a floor. I think they actually leave the floor dirtier than when then start.
This is a rough little 9th plate Mother of Pearl (MOP) case and the only tiny one I own. The mother of pearl was painted over and gave the flower a translucent appearance, On many well used cases such as this one the paint did not stick well and over time wore off. I don't embellish my images but wanted to here (right) to give those of you who have never seen
this an idea of how pretty these cases were, Someone must have been proud and passed this case around a lot. 1850-1856.
