Whyte Islet is a very small island on the shore of Howe Sound. People hike across the rocks to climb upon this hidden West Vancouver gem. Being aware of the changing tide is very important....the rocky path leading from the beach can quickly disappear when the tide comes in. Many people have been left stranded high and dry on this cute little island. The waterline indicates the water depth reached.

Whytecliff Park is located near West Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay Neighbourhood, the original name of which was White Cliff City, which opened in 1909. In 1914, Colonel Albert Whyte pressed for the spelling change from White Cliff City to Whytecliff. The Whytecliff area is now distinct from Horseshoe Bay. The park, originally Rockcliffe Park, was developed by W.W. Boultbee in 1926, and a private access road was cut from the Marine Drive highway at Batchelor Bay.

The fifty acre Boultbee estate was purchased by the Union Steamship Company in 1939 and the company operated a Bowen Island Ferry from Whytecliff during 1939-41 and 1946-1952

The park is currently home to more than 200 marine animal species and is the first Marine Protected Area in Canada. Sea lions can be seen sunbathing on the beach during summer.

Rustic float & silt homes, boat sheds and a variety find home on the scenic Southern Arm of the Alouette River

Last glimpse of the evening sun - About as peaceful as it gets !

South Alouette River flows for 21 km before entering the Pitt River near Pitt Meadows; and the Pitt River

The Alouette River was awarded Heritage status in 1998 under the BC Heritage Rivers System

The Alouette River is a tributary of the Pitt River in the Canadian province of British Columbia.

The Alouette River was known as the Lillooet River until 1914, at which time its name was changed to avoid confusion with the much larger Lillooet River. The name Alouette, French for "lark", was obstentially chosen because it sounds similar to Lillooet.

The Mighty Fraser River on an absolutely enchanting winter evening.

The sky, water & ice reflections were completely mesmerizing.

As the sun disappeared below the horizon, a most incredible colour display began....a wide range of colours, from warm sunset yellows and oranges, to combinations that included indigo blues, stunning pinks and reds, and for the grand finale the sky glowed in twilight's deepest purples.

People were coming from all directions to witness this surreal winter sky-show.

In the sitting room of her London townhouse, the once death eater, Zimelda Zemeckis, sat in waiting.

The crispiness of Autumn streamed through the glass panes, and teetered tints of burnt orange upon the portrait of she and her son, Thibault.

Woebegone; a word to describe her appearance, as it dissolved into her leather armchair. He had not been home in months - and she feared what may have been the reason why.

Umbra.

Still, she sat in waiting, spared from her usual duties aiding the aurors or the Minister - for he could walk through the door at any moment, and she could convince him to join her instead.

This image speaks volumes about me. I am frugal and wearing my son's skull jacket that he had in high school, he's now 22. Notice the stretched out and worn cuff. I am not especially careful, my hand was dangerously close to the flame and I didn't realize it. I only had one sparkler to get it right so I am not the best planner. I do try to have a good heart and hopefully a positive message to share. Have a great day.

This shot was taken this morning. Feeling all the Monday blues, overwhelmed looking at the week ahead, as well as the week behind. Struggling to stay in the moment.

It's now well after getting home from work and the chiropractor and I still haven't gotten myself centered. I just burned a pan of sliced almonds I was toasting. I sat here and, literally - at least twice (probably more) - thought, who's cooking something? what's cooking? And none of those times did I think, oh - I am!

I'm going to try to get to bed soon. Hopefully, getting a good night's sleep will help tomorrow.

This shot is for The Hereios' theme, How are you feeling today?!

And today's shot is also for February's Alphabet Fun: 2017 Edition; F is for Feelings.

And last, but not least, for Our Daily Challenge, Mood Lighting.

37/365

The fawn and some bedside mood lighting. No we don't have that sort of stuff in our bedroom. It is Slider's Sunday isn't it? What an awful day, and it's no better now. Rain beating on the window. Pitch black outside. Wind howling at the windows. And I have no option but to take Darcy for a walk before bedtime. Damn. Better get some mood lighting.

But the little china fawn lies near my head at night, on my bedside cabinet. So peaceful and pretty. Sweet dreams
