This is an "Oregon" Junco which is a subspecies of the Dark-eyed Junco. They are found mostly in the western part of the US and it is very rare for them to be seen in our area.

I didn't realize how rare this bird is in our part of the country until recently when I shared some pics with some expert birders who confirmed their ID .

On Sunday, January 31, 2016, Beacon Hill Church held a worship service which included both the child dedication for two families and the baptism of five people. It was a wonderful time of celebration.

On Sunday, September 30, 2018, Pastor Don Beachy visited Beacon Hill Church with his wife Joanne and his son. After a time of musical worship, he preached a sermon on the role of the Church in the world. Then, there was a brief Question and Answer Session. Finally, we ended the day with a Fellowship Cookout that wound up being a "CookIN" due to chilly temperatures.

On Sunday, January 27, 2019, we held a special worship service to celebrate the installation of Pastor Don Beachy as Senior Pastor of Beacon Hill Church. Pastor Sam Huggard, head of NEDA, brought a sermon as a challenge to the congregation and the pastor. We ended the celebration with a potluck luncheon.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, we worshipped the Lord together as a church and herd a sermon from Pastor Don Beachy on "No Ordinary Rabbi" on Matthew 8:18-22

On Sunday, November 18, 2018, our interim pastor Rob Turner gave his final sermon in that role. The elders prayed over him and his wife Jessie, and we threw him a farewell reception after the worship service. And we worshipping the Lord God together.

On Sunday, May 14, 2017, we celebrated Mothers Day at Beacon Hill Church in Monroe, CT. Jim Alberts partnered with Pastor Ves Sheely to preach a message on surviving when life pulls the rug out from under you.

On Sunday, July 7, 2019, we worshipped the Lord together and celebrated the Lord's Supper. Pastor Don Beachy preached a sermon on relationships in the Sermon on the Mount.

On Sunday, August 5, 2018, Pastor Rob Turner brought a message on the Holy Spirit to Beacon Hill Church and then lead us in celebrating Communion. Pastor Ron Fay also visited and gave the benediction.

On Wednesday, April 26 2017, the annual AWANA Grand Prix was held at Beacon Hill Church in Monroe, CT. Kids age 2 to grade 6 competed in a pinewood derby and cheered each other on the way to victory... or just rolling down the hill.

On Sunday, April 23, 2017, we worshipped the King of Kings and elder Bill Vreeland preached.

On Sunday, November 19, 2017, Pastor Rob Turner preached on being thankful to the core of our souls to God and we worshipped God together.

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated the birth of the King of Kings with a special Candlelight Service with a Christmas Choir, Ladies Trio, and a sermon by Dr. Ron Fay.

At the end of the service, the kids from AWANA came up to lead the Congregation in singing "My Lighthouse" with hand motions!

On Sunday, September 25, 2022, Pastor Don preached on "Community" and we worshipped our good God in song. After the worship service, we had our annual congregational budget meeting.

We said goodbye to a dear friend headed overseas. And Dr. Ron Fay brought us his last sermon of the summer as a guest speaker.

On Sunday, June 3, 2018, we celebrated Communion together, worshipped the Lord, and received a sermon from Pastor Rob Turner on the Holy Spirit.

On Sunday, August 21, 2016, the air conditioning went out but we still enjoyed worshipping Jesus and listening to a sermon from elder Chand Ahuja.

On January 8, 2023, we gathered together to worship our God and King. Pastor Don Beachy preached a sermon on prophecy and the End Times. And the new officers for 2023 were welcomed and prayed for.

On Sunday, February 11, 2018, Pastor Rob Turner preached on "Kindred Spirit", Nick Calawa announced a new Youth Adults group, Al Campanelli announced a short term missions trip, and Chris Rowley reported on his outreach to international students.

On Sunday, May 12, 2019, we celebrated Mother's Day at Beacon Hill Church and worshipped the Lord together. Pastor Don preached a sermon on the first three Beatitudes.

On Sunday, April 29, 2018, Doctor Richard Flashman returned to Beacon Hill Church to update us on his ministry in Brooklyn and to challenge us to reach out beyond our comfort zones. And we worshipped the Lord together.

On Sunday, October 22, 2017, we gathered for a special worship service of song and testimony. Instead of a sermon, the worship team lead us in an extended time of musical worship and shared testimonies from their own lives of what God had done for them. Afterwards, we had a potluck luncheon together.

On Sunday, July 30, 2017, Pastor Sherman Driver - former associate pastor of Beacon Hill Church - returned as a guest preacher to worship with us and preach a sermon on discipleship.
