Homage to all those imaginative but poorly-produced science fiction movies from the first half of the 20th century.
Submitted to the Flickr group 7 Days of Shooting.
Photo seen in Flickr Explore.
The bitter cold weather has certainly put a damper on my walking lately, but I was able to get out last week for a bit.
This is the pier at the mouth of Bronte Creek, transformed by winter's finger.
Back from another Euro tour, so to balance the scales today's #monomonday is from a British icon - Battersea Power Station.
The synchroscopes in 'Control Room B' were used to synchronise the massive 100MW generators with the National Grid.
The Monopoly board game was patented in 1935. This replica set is based on the game designs used in the 1930s. For example, the houses are made of wood instead of plastic, and the car has a more humble look.
Photo shot for the Flickr group 7 Days of Shooting and, in particular, in response to j.towbin's wonderful Boardwalk photo.
I still find it odd that Australia gets a public holiday for the Queens Birthday but the UK does not (lol). My daughter and I spent a portion of the day down at our local gorge, here's a few grabs. On and check out the gif below :-)

I've never read anything like them, I love the HP books. I'm sooo lookin fwd to the new one being released.. was soo disappointed to hear that there was only one copy going up for auction, but now, apparently it's being released in paperback for about £3.50 with all profits going to charity.. so time will tell but i hope this rumour is true!!

If you look closely at these towers you can almost visualise the energy aura that surrounds them.
To get the full ionised impact, I copied the original and opened them both in Photomatix and told the program they were 1 stop different.
Then I wound up a lot of the settings until I had an aura around the steelwork.

This leaning barn is literally across the road from the most recent leaning barn picture I posted. It is still a working barn for sheep.
It would appear that these two have a contest to see who's barn can lean the furthest without actually falling down.
Point Traverse lighthouse at Prince Edward point. Built in 1881. This is the lighthouse at the south-easterly tip of Prince Edward County on Lake Ontario. Just beyond this lighthouse is a diver's paradise, with many wrecks from the past.
It's not often one gets to see the original lighthouse next to its modern equivalent..
I'm really enjoying this little portable printer, I can see me getting a lot of use out of it :-)
Happy Mono Monday!

Saw this camera at work today and thought it'd come in as a prop.
Aimless shooting led me to this.
Yongnuo 560iv 1/4 through socked beauty dish. High, camera left pointing down on me and kissing the camera.
Yongnuo 560iv 1/4 snooted about 6ft behind my head for the rim.
Beast from the east torch shining up the back wall for the fall off.
This is number 74 of my 366.
Taken during one of the first storms of winter 2013/14, with big waves and high tide hitting East Beach at West Bay, Dorset.
I spotted this interesting piece in a Melbourne Art Deco Museum and unfortunately, under some domestic pressure to move along, didn't get the details of what it was about.
the lighting was not good, and the P&S did its best, but I converted it to a old timer look more in keeoing with the age of it anyway, and having the side benefit of hiding the noise a bit.
