Strawberry Cupcakes dipped in Ghirardelli Chocolate Ganache, decorated with Bride's Monogram A using my Cricut Cake: Tie The Knot Cartridge.
Key fob made with black webbing and red polka dot ribbon and monogrammed in black using the Marie font.
Colors/monogram matched the invitations. I added about half of the 'C's' the morning of the wedding, thank goodness I left the other half to place on top until I arrived. Humidity got the best of these. Even after drying, these still wilted. :(
My son was nine when we built this together, as his first plastic model kit. Growing up, I saw daily news footage from the Vietnam war, and you couldn't help being mightily impressed at the sight of a Huey helicopter. Later on, Apocalypse Now re-ignited the interest, but it took many more years before I built a model of a Huey. The UH-1 had its first flight in October of 1956 and was the first turbine-powered aircraft ordered by the U.S. Army. It was a major leap forward from previous helicopters, and set speed and climbing records.
View from the ridge above the lake with more North Cascade peaks in the background. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get up there but these views were a more than adequate reward.
