Digital video installation
Monitored is a digital video piece that once again incorporated my EEG scan data. Instead of using the numerical data, I decided I wanted to work with the waves as I had become increasingly intrigued by their movements. I decided to use projection as this would transform the waves in a diffused light. But Instead of projecting these moving waves on their own I decided to projection map them over a subject’s face and then film it, allowing the waves to wrap around the nose and cheek, creating more dimension and fluidity in their movements. The audio I created to be listened to through headphones, was intended to further increase the sense of intimacy from it being shot at such an up close angle.
