We saw that tiny guy during our journey through the forest. He seemed lost. Either slept till the day time and forgot to come back into his hole. We found the closest one and brought him there. Hope he is all well now.
I call this house the ‘holey molely’ house. Not because there are a lot of moles in there, but because there are a lot of holes in the house.
In fact, I didn’t see one mole, but I do think I caught a glimpse of a red fox. He might have built his den in this house, or maybe not. I guess it could have been a dog hunting for moles. I didn’t get close enough to find out.
I just recently saw this house as the summer vegetation began to die back. I hope you can see it as well. If not, just pretend it is there and give it a fave anyway :)))

The Norway lemming (Lemmus lemmus) is mole, which dwells in tundra and fells in Lapland. It is usually very shy and invisible, but sometimes every 20 years its population suddenly increases dramatically. Then you can see a lot of them and they can defend their territory fiercely. The last time this happened was in 2011.
I met this individual on the hiking trail. It screeched loudly and didn't want to get out of the path at all.

The "Môle"
The Mole (1863 m - 6112 ft) is a landmark in the Arve Valley, it can be seen from far away. The climb to the summit of the Môle is a nice excursion. On the top, there is a gorgeous 360° view.
Up close, there are three summits : the "Petit Môle", the "Grand Môle" (more commonly known as the "Môle") and the "Môle of Marignier".

If Mole couldn't go down to the riverbank with his friends. He'd Stay Home and make new ones in the garden! ;0)
I was watching a Bank Vole and the ground started to crack and lift and lots of earth worms surfaced. A juvenile Robin took interest in the worms and this little fella appeared. Unfortunately the Robin took flight and the startled mole retreated back into its burrow, all lasted about 5 seconds. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
A mole looks very distinctive, if you can see one. It has a rounded body, velvety, grey-black fur, spade-like front claws, a short, furry tail, tiny eyes and a pink, pointed snout. They are found throughout mainland Britain, but not Ireland, wherever the soil is not deep enough for tunnelling.
Moles are often considered pests by gardeners and farmers. They live underground, tunnelling up to 20m a day and leaving characteristic mounds of earth on the surface – molehills. They also dig out large chambers, which they line with dry grass for resting. Once made, mole tunnels are often used by several generations.
Moles are solitary creatures, except during the breeding season. After mating the female gives birth to a litter of up to five young during the summer.

The Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona, Le Marche, Italy.
Also known as the Lazaretto, this 18th-century building was constructed on an artificial island in Ancona Port to serve as a quarantine station and Leprosarium. 1733-1743.
It was built to house possibly infected travellers, goods arriving in the port, and lepers.
Now renovated, it's the site of the Tattile Omero Museum and holds exhibitions.
