Strange scenario I found at the Turning Torso skyscraper in Malmo/Sweden. Not sure what the idea of that eye in the wall is but let's just assume it means positively that your bikes are safe there ... ;)

Previously unpublished shot from January 2017. A shot from the archives that would probably never have been published had it not been for the pandemic but this is my 6000th upload that goes into my 'Scotland' album. Enjoy!

I'm living in a world where lies are more readily believed than the truth, where hate spreads faster than love and where greed is more important than life. I'd rather live in a virtual reality than the dystopia we have right now.

Previously unpublished shot from October 2019. Thank you all for sharing your favourites and comments on my work, especially these 'previously unpublished' shots of which most would never see the light of day except for the ongoing pandemic.
Whilst comments are welcome, insults are never welcome and will be removed and you will be blocked so please save yourself the time and effort. Thanks!

Flickr removing the 'You/People' drop down option to view uploads from people you follow is a major step backwards in my opinion. It took me ages to find the new 'Activity Feed' as there is no menu option and no icon for the link. You have to click on the Flickr Home icon to get there which is not immediately obvious. Yet again I find myself leaving my disgust with pointless changes on the Flickr Help Forum, for what it's worth.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You have to click on the Flickr Home icon TWICE to update the 'Activity Feed'. This is ridiculous.
I predominantly use Flickr on PC and these changes just keep making it a pain to use that way. They appear to be favouring mobile devices over PC users and increasing the workload just to do simple tasks for those using a keyboard and mouse.
Change is not always good.

* No apologies for the 1988 earworm by Jane Wiedlin as it's an awesome song.

Previously unpublished shot from March 2020. The title is unashamedly taken from the title of an awesome Ultravox post-punk song from 1981. On editing I did notice two haunting wailing faces in her knees and now I cannot un-see them, I urge you not to look!

A new 125 home construction site sitting between a nature reserve and a forest. In the distance some communication towers in the dusk and pink hazy skyline.
Human nature and greed at its worst!

Previously unpublished shot captured in February 2018. I often not only wondered how you can walk around without looking but, more so, why you would want to. So much life being missed in person for the living of life through a tiny screen. Wishing you all a great weekend of photography - stay safe!

i take my telephone
for long walks
late at night
hoping this moment
this feinted escape
might attract a message
from somewhere
out there.

I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend my friends. Stay warm and stay safe.
I'm off to listen to a song by A Flock of Seagulls that's in my 80s playlist. Telecommunication.
Patrick Murphy, a friend of mine, has been working a long time as a GSM programer.
His favourite expression was: You can phone with everybody in the world, but you don't want to talk with your neighbour.

Social media and short video content are designed around triggering our dopamine pleasure pathway. No wonder it is so addictive.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can just walk along in a city with their nose buried in a mobile phone. We're becoming digital zombies. Slaves to the algorithm.
The more we live our life online the more desolate the real world becomes... Hmmm.
On a side note I saw my first Christmas adverts on 1st November this year and I am already sick of them. At the rate they get earlier each year we will soon be seeing them before Hallowe'en.
Thank you for your comments and favourites. I am grateful to you all.

Lost in her mobile phone screen for quite some time. I prefer to be fully aware of my surroundings in the city.
The data recovery has failed. It is taking so long, just GB of data per day, that it would take months to recover images from my drive. I will be collecting it soon and will attempt, myself, to just recover some of the processed .jpgs if I can. I have to accept, however, that I may just have lost an entire year's worth of photographs. Ones that have great emotional significance.
Please back up regularly my friends.
