ÊTRE PRÉSENT AU MONDE
J’ai fait le plein de naïveté,
Celle qui nous rapproche des évidences premières,
Les beautés naturelles.
Et je suis parti sur les sentiers des grandes prairies, sans projet précis.
Sauf celui d’assumer ma présence au monde.
Ici, le vent, libre de tout entrave,
Fait entendre un murmure fusionnel (le bruit blanc) qui nous aspire en lui.
La nuit venue, l’immensité inégalée du ciel étoilé, transporte l’observateur dans une autre dimension… inhumaine, insaisissable, merveilleuse, cosmique.
Confronté au non-humain, on se fait petit et interrogatif : « Et si nous étions seuls? Vu de là-bas, que sommes-nous? Y a t-il, en nous, une mémoire de nos origines?
J’aurais pu traverser les forêts anciennes, longer les rivages océaniques…
Partout les beautés naturelles engendrent une expérience physiologique et métaphysique qui pénètre la conscience, par tous les sens…
…La rendant plus « présente » au monde naturel, cette capacité atrophiée par l’univers artificiel que la modernité a érigé.
En soi, ces expériences ne changent rien à ce qui va mal sur cette planète.
Mais elles pourraient changer la façon avec laquelle chacun comprendra les enjeux et y répondra en toute conscience. *

BE PRESENT TO THE WORLD
I filled up with naivety,
The one that brings us closer to the first evidences,
Natural beauties.
And I set off on the trails of the great prairies, without a specific project,
Except that of assuming my presence in the world.
Here, the wind, free from all hindrances
Makes hear a white noise that sucks us into it.
At nightfall, the unequaled immensity of the starry sky transports the observer to another dimension... inhuman, elusive, marvellous, and cosmic.
Confronted with the non-human, we become small and questioning: “And if we were alone? Seen from there, what are we? Is there, in us, a memory of our origins?
I could have crossed ancient forests, going along the ocean shores…
Everywhere, natural beauty generates a physiological and metaphysical experience that penetrates the consciousness, through all the senses...
…Making it more “present” to the natural world, this capacity atrophied by the artificial universe that modernity has erected.
By themselves, these experiences won’t change what’s wrong on this planet.
But they could change the way everyone understands the issues and responds to them in good conscience. *

RÉSISTANCE
Ils ont choisi la résistance
Face aux vents furieux,
Face à la mer menaçante
Face aux outrages du temps qui passe
Face à l’exode de ceux qui les ont habités, qui leur ont donné vie, jadis.
Ce sont de petits villages de pêcheurs, éparpillés par centaines le long des côtes maritimes
Certains se sont vidés de leur vie, ne laissant que des traces éparses
D’autres ont trouvé la force de résister, tant bien que mal…
Dans cette cruelle logique de modernité, il y a des perdants et des… survivants
Ils résistent comme le font ces insignifiants grains de sable bousculés par les marées
Tapis profondément dans le coeur de ceux qui les ont habités,
Incrustés dans l’âme et l’histoire humaine
Comme ces havres protecteurs que les marins retrouvaient toujours d’instinct, même par mauvais temps
Ils ont choisi la résistance
Ils ont choisi la persistance.

Facing the threatening sea,
Facing the ravages of passing time,
Faced with the exodus of those who inhabited them and gave them life once.

I am honored to announce that Musée De La Modernité has opened to the public. The Musée is set in 1940s wartime France, and features an active exhibition on Pre-War Pin-ups and Pulps, a Allied Forces Bar, and a Hookah and relaxation den, among the aftermath of a battle! This project is certainly a special one.
To celebrate there is a photo contest with 1k linden prize with rules and entry guidelines available on sim. WINNERS CHOSEN MARCH 31st! Take photos and enjoy your stay!

En plus du pont du milieu (ou Mittlere Brücke) et de la cheminée de la centrale de chauffage urbain de la Volta d'IWB déjà présentés. Deux nouveaux candidats à l'affrontement historique. D'une part l'usine de recyclage des déchets (KVA) de Bâle d'IWB avec ses cheminées jumelles.
D'une autre part un des quatre ferrys de Bâle (ou Basler Fähren) qui relie la vieille ville de Grand-Bâle à la vieille ville de Petit-Bâle en place depuis le milieu du XIXe siècle.

Built in 1990, the escalator was designed by the internationally renowned French designer Andrée Putnam. Between tradition and modernity, the escalator takes up the tile motifs on its sides, which form the historic glass roof of the shop.
In the foreground, part of "L'Amazone Erogène", a monumental work by Prune Nourry, which evokes the artist's fight against breast cancer. It is composed of a disc in the shape of a breast and hundreds of wooden arrows pointing towards its centre. The vertical lines in the foreground are in fact the suspension wires of the arrows.

Construit en 1990, l'escalator a été conçu par la designer française de renommée internationale Andrée Putnam. Entre tradition et modernité, l'escalator reprend sur ses flancs les motifs de carreaux constituant les verrières historiques du magasin.
Au premier plan, une partie de « L’Amazone Erogène », oeuvre monumentale de Prune Nourry, qui évoque le combat de l'artiste contre le cancer du sein. Elle est composée d’un disque en forme de sein et des centaines de fleches en bois dirigees vers son centre. Les traits verticaux du premier plan sont en fait les fils de suspension des flèches.

Sur une Ligne 4 en pleine transformation électrique, le train 60681 tiré par l’€4001-3980 vient de partir de Flamboin. Elle se dirige vers Gudmont son terminus.

La voyageuse : Gatineau bizarro

La voyageuse explore Gatineau à travers des images qui révèlent un aspect « bizarro » de la ville. Elle met en lumière des lieux souvent négligés, tels que des terrains vagues, des ruines contemporaines et des espaces urbains marqués par des graffitis. Ces sites marginaux illustrent les défis contemporains et l'imaginaire collectif qui façonnent l'identité de Gatineau.
Elle invite les spectateurs à observer la nature qui reprend ses droits, la dégradation des structures abandonnées, et la poésie qui en émane, contrastant avec la modernité qui cherche à uniformiser l'espace urbain. La voyageuse encourage l'appréciation de ces espaces populaires, parfois kitsch, qui racontent notre relation au territoire.
Ces interstices du quotidien offrent une perspective alternative à un Gatineau planifié et « normalisé », soulignant que cette vision unique fait également partie de la réalité de la ville. Les participants sont invités à partager leurs propres découvertes de lieux marginaux avec le hashtag #gatineaubizarro sur les réseaux sociaux.
The traveler explores Gatineau through images that reveal a "bizarro" aspect of the city. She highlights often overlooked places, such as vacant lots, contemporary ruins, and urban spaces marked by graffiti. These marginal sites illustrate the contemporary challenges and the collective imagination that shape Gatineau's identity.
She invites viewers to observe nature reclaiming its space, the wear of time on abandoned structures, and the strange poetry that emanates from them, contrasting with the modernity that seeks to standardize urban space. The traveler encourages appreciation of these popular, sometimes kitschy spaces that tell the story of our connection to the territory.
These interstices of daily life offer an alternative perspective to a planned and "normalized" Gatineau, emphasizing that this unique vision is also part of the city's reality. Participants are invited to share their own discoveries of marginal places using the hashtag #gatineaubizarro on social media.
When modernity, the city and life are involved, anything can happen, even the most surprising images in the end.

La nuit tombe sur Dōtonbori, et le canal s’illumine d’un double ruban de lanternes qui se reflète dans l’eau. After working hard and dedicated to bring Second Life Destination: Musée De La Modernité to life, I am happy to announce further amusements and gifts to the land!
When I visited Luxor, I was donning my own creation, an original mesh paper fan featuring French illustrations and dancers that go along with the theme. This is my first original creation for the store Girls Gadgets and Gags. Make sure to visit in world to pick up these gorgeous props.
It is so fun to be a second life business owner, and so proud to take a picture honoring the first quality gifts now available at the museum.

MAISON AUGUSTE PAVIE
o Auguste Jean Marie Pavie est né à Dinan le 31 mai 1847 dans cette maison du XVème siècle située en plein cœur historique de Dinan.
o Il est mort le 7 juin 1925 à Thourie, en Ille-et-Vilaine, c’était un explorateur, diplomate et haut fonctionnaire français.
o CLASSÉE MONUMENT HISTORIQUE, c’est une demeure typique de l’époque, à porche et pans de bois.
Face au parvis de la basilique Saint-Sauveur, sur la place du même nom, la maison profite d’un environnement calme et aéré.

Avenida Prestes Maia, the beating heart of São Paulo, has been transformed into an impressive vertical art gallery. From north to south, this iconic axis that connects to the 23 de Maio now displays monumental murals that bring an air of renewal, color, and modernity to the urban landscape.
