One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Orange".

This weeks theme is dedicated to the MacroMondays moderator and longtime contributor Hans and his nations color orange. As a relatively new member of the group I don’t know too much about him, however I’ve seen some of his great shots and appreciate the effort that went into them.

I wish him a good recovery and all the best for the future!

**I hope the moderators of "Macro Mondays" will please indulge me and kindly allow me to use this photo that was taken on August 10th (still well within the 90 day allowance). I promise not to make a habit of using photos that haven't actually been taken during the 7 days of the current theme, but I just though this photo was quite... errrm... appropriate in a certain sort of way... ;-) And search as I might, I just couldn't find examples of similar such insect antics over the last week - anywhere...!

Thanks! And HMM!!!**

* Moderator's Choice for MG&M July 2010. The standard within the group is very high & I am honoured that this was selected (Many thanks Barb!!).

*Made Photo of the Day by the Best People's Choice Group on the 22nd January 2010.

The sunset yesterday was very beautiful. Unfortunately we were walking alongside the canal when the effects first showed.

This was taken in a parking area of a local company in Bolton-le-Sands (opposite the Packet Boat Inn).

Had I been taller, then I may have obtained a better angle...unfortunately there was nothing to stand on, and the effects lasted only a short time.

Message to Cleggon: Don't tamper with Democratic processes..NO to 55%

April 26 2010 : "It's now all becoming clear - the great plan of Nick Clegg's is becoming clear- he's only interested in one thing and that is changing our electoral system so that we have a permanent hung Parliament, we have a permanent coalition, we never have strong and decisive government."

The administration fought bravely to rescue not only a downed moderator from a flamewar, but the entire site's reputation from an outbreak of clone-on-a-plating clone kiddies. Warnings were issued, posts were deleted, and even the mighty banhammer came into use, but there were too many. Moments before they were overwhelmed the servers crashed for the thirty-seventh time that day and all went black...

An "entry" to the already-finished cloneplate contest. I've had this idea for almost a year now, but I want to thank Simon (whose idea, I think, the contest was originally) for pushing me to rush to finish it, even if I was late compared to everyone else. I'll post photos of the Admin and Mod later; as the crux of the build they took the most time. (As you can see the rest is more or less sloppily thrown together)

EDIT: MEANWHILE ON FLICKR, THAT GLORIOUS HAVEN OF PEACE AND POLITE EXPLOREBOTS...

I struggled with whether to include this bit and just now succumbed. :D

What a concept! Are there also moderately minimal pictures? Minimalism in my book is the art of leaving out all but the essential. If you leave out more, you either get a totally different picture, or, more likely, a statement or a joke. This is a joke. It began with a contest Extremely minimal in the group that is now (but was not then) called "Less is more: The best". I started with a "moderately minimal" picture of mine - (below) - and the post is the only way I could think of to make something more "extremely minimal".

Imagine this! It actually became #1 (with only 15 votes...) in the contest. I'm still in doubt if it is a photo at all.

So are the moderators of the group "Less is more: The best". At least, when I submitted the photo to that group - after it won the latest contest in the group - it was not admitted :-)
