Merry Christmas everyone!
Since 2010, at the end of each year, I've compiled an image of all the new Lego models that I built. One can argue about their exact number (do a tractor, trailer and its load count as three, how much of a model needs to be changed before it's a new build?) but I think it is fair to say that I had a productive year. I certainly built quite a bit more than last year.
I had a very busy year at work and spent about a quarter of my time on work travel (including trips to present work at conferences in Greece and Japan and three project meetings in the US), so I am not quite sure how I managed. Many of these models are quite small though, and I can build them fairly quickly, spread out over a weekend or two. I also do a lot of planning when I am travelling, looking at pictures and thinking about how to build new models.
Looking at this year's collection, it's clearly I have turned into a full-blown City builder. There is only one 1/36 scale military model; the rest are minifigure scale and civilian. For me, highlights are the Allelys MAN TGX with an Ivatt Steam locomotive and the Manners DAF XG with tractors.
I displayed models at Modelshow Europe in the Netherlands, BrickFair Chantilly in the US and at the Great Western Brick Show in the UK. At the latter event, I had the opportunity to run my locomotive on a railway layout, which was a lot of fun. I also attended a WAMALUG meeting in the US, because this happened to coincide with a work trip. It was very nice to chat to some of the builders I've met through BrickFair in a quieter and smaller setting.
I am not sure what the new year will bring. I will be attending a few Lego events abroad, but hopefully there will be a little less work travel. Currently, I am planning a new 1/36-scale military build and I want to build new models for a 1/22 Japan-themed display, but I also anticipate there will be a few more minifigure scale haulage models.
… This girl literally stopped me in the middle of the sidewalk, chose the shooting location herself and took the pose, waiting for me while I was fumbling with my lenses. After the shot, she just meowed happily and disappeared round the back garden.

A location on Strijp-S that I have not visited before. The atmosphere of this location really appealed to us and playing with the available light was a nice challenge.

A simple photo, where I made use of indirect sunlight, standing on the shadow side of her face and also found the rusty part of the fence to match the color tones in her clothes.

You can see every posture as a pose. You can also use the unconscious postures as a pose.
A mobile can help in an easy way to show those unconscious poses.
It doesn't matter to me whether the model is looking at the cell phone or makes eye contact with the camera for a while. The posture appears normal and natural.
I usually credit models, photographers and everyone involved, but with this picture it is very confusing and hard to determine roles.
Alurcha Niekerk is a painter, and I pose for him. Taking picture of him at work same time. Result of his work is very impressive, and I'm proudly placing it on the wall in my new home. Curious what's on canvas? Check his gallery.

I wonder what she's thinking...
I have an 80 year old photographer as a mentor, and since the pool we were using was near his condo, he dropped in. Frank is a retired veteran of photography, so when he is on the scene, I like to get him to help. Frank's specialty was photographing women, and his nickname was Hef, so, well, he is quite at home working with a swimsuit model. I forgot to tell him that Page had some reservations about looking like she fell out of a Playboy magazine. So I thought she might be a bit hesitant when he was coaching her in cleavage enhancing poses like this one. But the professional that Page is, she never wavered, and even looks like she is having some fun.
She's probably thinking - "My boyfriend's really going to like this."
