Has something to do with this years gingerbread house, the clue is in the name of the insect.

While working on the house Yesterday in the kitchen she was walking on the counter, as you know Ladybugs find a way to come indoors from the house sidling, this one had egg like substance under her.

Still unfinished Attic, but I must put more clues.

Past reflections is the clue.

Next step will be putting on the tiles on all the roofs, this will be long process, I must colors the gum-paste then cut all the tiles,

A wishing well is a term from European folklore to describe wells where it was thought that any spoken wish would be granted. I wish my mixer arrives soon so I can finish making the icing for the ground cover on the houses,

Sunday morning I went to refresh my royal icing and my Hobart mixer conked out on me,

Instead of replacing the electrical parts I opted for a bigger and double the power of my old,

It did served me well, 34 years to be exact,

Our home was served well.

Clue, back in the day they all needed drinking water......

***All hand made and edible, even to rope.

My father's steam engine. Precision model by the renowned Bassett-Lowke model engineering company. Catalogue description below. The prices look laughable but they were significant in the early 1920s when my father bought it He was a teenager and had saved up hard for it. Now it's about 100 years old and still works.

Alloys hardly heard of today went into it, gunmetal and German silver. Even the cast iron of the flywheel is on the way out. All lovingly machined and assembled.

For Macro Mondays "Father" 20-layer focus stack processed in HeliconFocus and Affinity Photo. FOV at the main axle is 2.4 inches.

2011 was a beautiful Dollhouse with furniture,

Miniatures are harder to work with than real life size,

On the link you will see how the squirrels eat the house.

This is a shot of part of my husband's Covid 19 project, whilst being in lockdown.

Just before lockdown a friend gave him two train sets which he was going to give away, but decided to keep and make a layout from scratch.

His attention to detail is amazing and it has kept him occupied for many hours whilst we have been restricted in our movements outside of the home.

The layout is 6ft x 4.6in and folds in half, once the trains and buildings have been removed.

During a very restricted visit of our grandson (due to Covid 19) the two of them enjoyed their model world together.

Looking forward to the time when they can enjoy it fully.....

This is Engineering on a Small Scale..........it was by my nephew Stephen who is suffering from Parkinson's disease................

La petite place de l'étoile est agrémentée de nombreuses décorations hivernales. Les plus petits ont même le droit à une petite animation à "très grande vitesse" dans un cadre bien sympahique.

I bought a bag of these coloured model making match sticks in a craft shop a few years ago thinking that they could be used in a photo but of course they never were. I rediscovered them at the back of our grandchildren's toy cupboard. Everything has its day! The match sticks are 2mm square.

Last week for the second year I gave my little critters their Annual treat,

half is gone, by the end of the week it will be to the ground, the first think they ate was the furniture at the girls room,

No need to comment on the rest of the photos, I made them public so you can see the details in large,

Putting the final touches, now I totally confused you, apples couches castle doors baking, now this garden feeder, well its still early next week I will increase my Gingerbread house posts,

Btw still one guess:-)

Another teaser for your Christmas Gingerbread house Sunday,

Making the first one you need ideas making a copy of the first one is a piece of cake:-)))

Enjoy your day everyone.

Even though I finished the one for the store the one for our kitchen is almost done,

Adding the cypress trees will give it that European estate look,

I wil be done by tomorrow,

In front of the waterfall there is a waterwheel, as all my Gingerbread houses they are edible,

even to those rocks on the creek,

This was a set I made from lollipop sticks and plasticine.

It all started in the end of September, finally its time to post the Dollhouse,

This is the most labor intensive Gingerbread I made to date, my wife wants me to make one out of wood, not for Eleni but for herself:-)

I will post more detailed photos of the rooms with close ups next week,

Thank you for all your comments and patience, you are great sports:-)

Thank you Susie for getting it right from the beginning,

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

A 4mm scale model I made a few years ago for a customer. It had it's inspiration in an article by that doyen of railway modellers, Ken Ball, who had made a model of a shop in Kerridge, near Macclesfield. I took some elements from Ken's masterpiece, and freestyled it. Unfortunately, I never got to see what it looked like on my customer's layout.

Over The Limit

This is a very special model as it sort of kickstarted what I would consider my current day modelmaking in terms of style and themes. This is the fourth iteration, with an overall more galactic theming to it.

Woody loves his basement projects, and it is very detail oriented.... organization though is not his "forte"... as you can see!

"hobby and hobbies"

One way for Santa to come in our home is down the chimney, unfortunately the dude from north pole had to many cookies lately:-) I think this year was very easy making Santa, don't you think?:-)))

From now till Christmas I will be posting many photos of the house, still only one guess,

One of the many Gromit modules being worked on.

One of the images from a commission I shot at Aardman Animation Studios in Bristol. The full set is on my website.

Aardman is the studio behind Wallace & Gromit, Creature Comforts and Morph.

Not your traditional Christmas Eve ... I spent most of the day cleaning and organizing my workshop so that I can actually get something done in there without tripping over crap every time I tried to move.

I'm happy with the results, now I can get in there and start playing :)

Obviously the title is a joke ... but it sure looks that way. Actually I used to own a hobby shop so I have lots of stuff left over from the store.

Looks like another Christmas gingerbread posting Sunday, I am trying to make it little easier for you to guess, so far only one person have guessed what it is,

I like the way the roof came out with marbleized slate tiles, all off course is made with sugar, in the end I will post a photo of all the tools I used, most were done with wood I shaped in my wood shop, for instance the bricks are done with a piece of wood that has 1/8 saw blade kerf and a simple little 1/8 stick that I use to mark them, simply press to mark, rubbing little corn starch did the trick for the mortar, I hope you like it,

I have been working on the Gingerbread house for over a Month now making all the miniatures,

I will be posting a photo every Sunday till Christmas, only one person knows what it will be,

I am afraid I cannot reveal what it will be till that day, you are welcome to take a guess,

***

Making many forms in my shop is just as fun, as you see the couch was carved from pine

covered with starch the mold the gum paste over it to dry,

The woodgrain on the table to the left came out awesome, looks like tiger maple,

All done with sugar and everything is addible,

Happy Sunday everyone!

One of the other residents in our retirement village loves to make models among his other hobbies. This particular model of a small patrol boat is made entirely from scratch, rather than a kit, and is fully radio controlled using a small and quiet electric motor. Here he was putting it through its paces on the village lake, and this shot along with one or two others will accompany an article about his efforts in the next village monthly magazine.

For a sense of size, it would measure around 20 inches in length.

This was an unexpected shoot for me as I had gone to the lake with birding in mind and only had the full telephoto setup with me, but I was able to get far enough back to chase the boat around the lake as it sped along.

Getting close to the day the squirrels would have their long awaited feast,

This is on the second floor little girls room mostly in pink, those Calla Lilies are very tiny,

but very easy to make, I think everyone can make them on their first try,

Most of this room was done on the fly,

I have been working on the Gingerbread house for over a Month now making all the miniatures,

Btw I am very fond taking photos of my work, after all flickr is about photography even if its a gravel... Happy Sunday everyone!

Thanks for your comments!
