Not handed in yet - this is the first project I've finished from module 1.

Used Derwent Coloursoft Pencils (some mixed) and drilled the centre hole...

A modern sporting rifle. Being nearly the most common rifle (if not the most common) in North America, I don't really find it terribly interesting. That said, this image helps portray one of this platform's greatest assets: Its modularity.

The scorpionfish are not the prettiest things in the Red Sea, but they are fascinating to observe. Their camouflage lets them blend almost perfectly in with the surroundings. If you look carefully, you will see that this handsome fellow seems to be covered in bits of coal – that’s its skin! Even its eyes are camouflaged; which can have a very menacing look with their unceasing stare. The fish has venomous spines which can cause very painful injuries to the unwary. They have a superb feeding strategy of remaining stationary and snapping prey that comes near. With their mouth they create a vacuum and suck prey in during a nearly imperceptible split-second movement (15 milliseconds or about a 1/60sec). I think this is a tassled scorpionfish (Scorpaenopsis venosa), but the subspecies can be difficult to distinguish from each other.

hier eine Modifikation (Mod)

Inspiriert war das Bild in seinem Aufbau ja schon leicht von den Arbeiten Werner Winklers (Werwin)

www.kunstnet.de/WERWIN/

und speziell Way of Day (hier leider nicht zu sehen)

KLC Project 1.5 - Drawing

This is a very good first set of inked plans, so well done. The plans and overlays line up correctly, your title block and key are neatly produced, as are the furniture layout and traffic flow diagram.

102.5/120

20.5/25: Tutors comments were to be a bit more thorogh room by room.

38/40 Tutor's comments: Kitchens are one of the most difficult drawings in a property to draw. You have achieved a very professional first attempt. It is very impressive to see you use all the correct annotations fro drawers, cooker hoods, high cupboards, etc. It is very easy to read and therefore translate very well to anybody reading it. The key is wonderfully detailed! When drawing hobs the symbol should be full circles. Do not forget the taps on the sink. Well done with the door frame, this is exactly how it should look.

14/15 tutors comments: you have made a series of neat colour wheels, and laminated them and the overlays. the colours are accurate. you could have elongated the segments and used thicker card.

Find Tokyo tower, a copy of Eiffel tower (a bit higher), look how tiny it looks in the middle of Tokyo!

Module 1.5 Sitting Room Floor Plan

105/120

36/40 Try to embellish the furniture on plan i.e. put extra detail on so it becomes more obvious what exactly it is; A graphic style of drawing works well on plan.

Try to draw a good repensentation of the piece of furniture/soft furnishing etc.

Bedside tables with lamps on but draw them as they would be seen rather than as a symbol. Accessorise! This will make what is essentially quite a dull technical drawing more interesting and friendly to clients.

Living Room Traffic Flow, no negative comments

37/40 Tutor's comments: This really is a very good first attempt at a technical drawing. You have approached the technique with a great degree of professionalism, well done. Your survey sketches are excellent; using graph paper has really helped you to keep the whole drawing clean and tidy. This is a very good habit to get into as it helps with your accuracy when translating into technical drawing. Your keyand title block are very well presented. Your overall inking quality is very high, be careful with detailed areas such as the windows. If they are really very complicated leave very small details out as it can make it look too busy (I agree!). Door frames should look like post-at attached (post-it was missing...) Lovely use of freehand on the soft surnishings. When drawing items like the back of chairs, you do not need to fill these in, as it can look untidy on inking. Just using single lines to indicate thickness is fine for this and you can show they are solid when we cover rendering in further modules. (For future project, and to save you time, we recommend using layout paper for your pencilled technical drawing, as it is harder to see pencil on tracing paper).

A re-edit of my Sadr/crescent region shot from late May.

I re-stacked it using different perameters... I think this is a bit better but really it needs a LOT more data. Might re-shoot this again and try and get a couple of hours on it in the next week or two... should smooth it out beautifully.

Module 1.4 Survey

19/20

This is an excellent example of a survey sheet that is comprehensive. One additional point to add, regarding services, also include location of the electricity box and gas meter.

Made good use of tick boxes.

40/40. This is a good well constructed colour wheel. The colour sequence is correct with a good sequence between the red to the yellow and round to the blue. The red to blue sequence is a little dark but acceptable.

The overlays have been well constructed and have been correctly titled and labelled.

Pretty fancy 'eh? However, I thought to myself as I was making it, this could be greatly improved with a few alterations.
