The Tor Massif and the MoC.
Not to sure about this one. The wall at front is a bit dominating and could do with a more dramatic sky.
Moving to university has been very rough for my MOC building. I have been limited to designing models using Studio since I have only been able to play around with real bricks maybe two or three times per year. Not a very efficient process.
However, this dragon required very little redesign when I put most of it together this summer (in rainbow colours, of course). I am very pleased with how it has turned out so far and wanted to share.
For now this quick render will have to suffice!
"Over the lip of the little dell, on the side away from the hill, they felt, rather than saw, a shadow rise, one shadow or more than one. They strained their eyes, and the shadows seemed to grow. Soon there could be no doubt: three or four tall black figures were standing there on the slope, looking down on them. So black were they that they seemed like black holes in the deep shade behind them. Frodo thought that he heard a faint hiss as of venomous breath and felt a thin piercing chill. Then the shapes slowly advanced."
This is my moc for the Lego Ideas LOTR contest.
This is Astraea!
(I finished this model months ago but have been mega delayed with photos. It’s been a long year…)
Design-wise:
* I was inspired by this sketch (I think originally from しょぼ though now I can’t locate it in their portfolio), which I took my own direction.
* It’s the first time I’ve played with the bar handle on round plate element, which I ended liking a lot.
* The panels surrounding each rear engine unit are angled to flare slightly outward (on the horizontal plane) relative to each thruster. I also enjoyed the geometry between the opposing (top/bottom) cylindrical engine sections. I’ll post a breakdown later.
* I had fun with the geometry for the cockpit. The glass in the opposed sections are held (a) with internal/outward tension at the top and bottom, and (b) with external/inward tension from each side.
* As a first for me, I used physical and digital design in tandem from the start. The process worked well for me; I find I still need physical parts to explore connection, but it opened possibilities to ‘run fast’ with digital.
I’ll post the digital design file and some breakdowns when I find space.
As I celebrate launch of my first LEGO Ideas set, 21340 Tales of the Space Age, I'd like to share with you three more pictures in the series I've built. They are closer in style to my original submission, but uses a dedicated hanger on the same height as pictures in the final set. I hope you enjoy these models as well as the previous ones.
Instructions available on my Rebrickable page (warning: all three models use some illigal techniques). rebrickable.com/users/john.carter/mocs/
Well, I must confess: all this "West Dune Customs" stuff I came up with, should have been just something to introduce my new MOC. Obviously it got completely out of control, gaining its own dignity, so I hope you won't be disappointed with the real MOC.
Here it is, a X-34 Tatooine landspeeder revamped in a Classic Space way, another Classic Space - Star Wars mashup from me, after Rey's speeder. What's wrong with me and speeders?
I got the same idea my friend billyburg got, but he's clearly a faster builder than me, so he uploaded his version (billyburg's classic space landspeeder) to Flickr more than a month ago. I love his version so much that I almost gave up building mine; I didn't want to give the impression of copying other people's work. Luckily, this thought lasted just less than a day...
No piece has been cut or glued. For the "snot reversal tecniques" I used on the rear of the speeder and on the side of the seats I have to thank kosbrick and his tutorials.
For the turbines design credits to Larry Lars. As I already wrote, I tried at least three different versions of the turbines, but I ended up using his, the one, eventually, I was happiest with.
I think it's a very hot landspeeder, but I am, obviously, not impartial. Maybe a little too long, but at the West Dune Custom they had to lenghten the chassis to install such a badass engine. ;-)
And the license plate? Well, 1970 is the year I was born, so LL970 was a straight choice... :D
Nhớ lớp qá trời ơiiiiiiiiiiii.

these are the MOC's that I made in 2011that I'm proud of ;) It was an awesome year and I hope next year will be even better ;D
and to all of you Happy new year !!
Besides making a scene, I also wanted to expand onto the Aurean landscape and build something nice that I could display as well. Here is my sig fig's residence. A lovely hideaway tucked into the rocks. Perfect for anyone trying to stay out of the way.
He has stupidly big and fun weapons, a scythe and a sword.
And he's, as of 2018, my favourite MOC I ever made.
Small MOC of a colorful Toucan. I used a lot of SNOT for the body and beak, and I like how it ended up.
Thanks for checking out my build!

This MOC was constructed for the "REPLICATE YOUR HEROIC MINIFIGURES IN BATTLE!" contest on LEGO ideas
Here's a Ninjago inspired MOC, made for the latest New Elementary contest. 26 construction elements has been used into this build, can you spot them?
For more details check out the video:
I was messing around trying to build an engine to go into a new MOC for this months LUGNuts challenge, and I decided to pull out all my MOC engines to have a look at them together. All in all they're pretty much similar, yet all done differently. I sure like that jet blade piece! None of them are based on anything real, some of them have their exhaust pipes removed, and two of them haven't been used yet.
My latest MOC: entering the long lost hall of the elven king.
I used a fixed camera point to make this single shot. An intensive build and i hope you all like it!
The Gamma Dragon flys high into the sky to absorb gamma rays usually shielded by the atmosphere. Theses rays allow for tremendous power and give it a glowing appearance.

I finally got a chance to put the head used for my profile picture into a moc! Building this guy for Aaron's Dragon building contest was really fun... and a great excuse to procrastinate studying for finals! :P
Constructed around a massive particle cannon and also equipped with ion guns and anti-fighter turrets, these destroyers decisively end space fleet battles with overwhelming force.
The engine design here was actually originally intended for the Restoration Crusader I made a while ago. I really like the angular and aggressive engine design, but it wasn't really meshing with the more reserved angles of that model's body. I ended up coming up with a different engine design for that model but I kept these and finally made a new ship that I think works better with them.

Built for the Prelim Round of the Spare Parts Community MOC League
Theme: Hunter
Thanks once again to the chief Ari (buttloaf_builds) for helping with the edits.
Seems I built mostly cars last year, apart from 28 Febrovers and a SHIP.
The three I care about are the 7-wide pickups in the middle row: 1969 Ford F-100, Hanomag Kurier, and 1964 Ford F-100.
