Emily, the Mushroom Girl

The original Mushroom Girl MOC is one of my most cherished creations. While it doesn't fully stand up to the test of time, it was an immense step in my building journey; not only was it displayed in the Lego House, but it was the first in an ever-evolving lineup of characters in a style that feels like my own; a feeling I've wrestled with for a long time. Heck, it even inspired someone to draw her; which is, like, still one of the coolest things to happen in my time in the hobby. So shoutout to @elimy.art ; as a bit of a thank you I've chosen Emily as the character's name :)

 

So for Brickworld Chicago this year, I've done a full redesign of the character! The dress is a bit different this time around, but it still matches the original aesthetic well enough. Unfortunately, I forgot to include a couple of pieces during reconstruction before taking this photo, but I've been sitting on this edit since at least July and decided to just go ahead and post it regardless. While it is by far not my best edit, I decided that I'd rather post it than get stuck on it. Hoping to get a few more builds out this year! You'll be getting at least 7 👀
