Butterflies are beautiful, delicate and photogenic. Butterflies are also fickle, flighty and f***ing hard to photograph. I admire all of you for your excellent butterfly shots and welcome any advice on how to get those wonderful close-ups :)

Maples on a Misty Monday Morning

The well-centred Atlantic puffin had just landed beside the bird on the left. As per their normal habit, the central puffin spread its wings when it set down and was starting to step forward, but lefty had already grabbed a mouthful of wing. The yank on the wing caused the puffin to be pulled off balance so it had to do a bit of a hop and adjust course. The puffin on the right was a spectator throughout. After a couple of seconds, things seemed back to normal until righty started a mild shouting and biting match. The centre always seems to be set upon by both the right and the left. LOL.

Thanks for taking a look at my images. It is very much appreciated.

All of the critters were enjoying the new crop of berries along the trails!

I saw this bird swimming in the estuary at the coast on our visit, and catching snack after snack. Only problem is that I don't know what it is! The beak reminds me of a merganser, but it doesn't have the stripe toward the back that females have. Maybe a juvenile hooded merganser? Any help would be appreciated.
