Hartbeespoort, informally also known as "Harties", is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa, situated on slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain and the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. The name of the town means "gateway of the hartbees" (a species of antelope) in Afrikaans. It was previously known as Schoemansville, named after General Hendrik Schoeman, a Boer General in the Anglo-Boer War, who owned the farm that the Hartbeespoort Dam was built on.
The town consists of holiday homes around the dam as it is popular with visitors from nearby Gauteng Province. It is home to the Om Die Dam (English: Around the dam) ultra marathon of 50 km, which takes place annually in the first half of the year.

The dam is 149.5 metres (163.5 yd) long and 59.4 metres (195 ft) high and is built across a gorge cutting through the Magaliesberg. The reservoir is fed by the waters of the Crocodile River and Magalies River and covers approximately 18.83 square kilometres (7.27 sq mi), with a mean depth of 9.6 metres (31 ft) and maximum depth of 45.1 metres (148 ft). It has a surface area of 20 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi), and its normal range of annual water level fluctuation is 0.8 metres (2.6 ft). The mixing type of the reservoir is monomictic.[8]
A single-laned, tarmac road skirts the water's edge on the north side; along its route it passes through a 56.6 m long tunnel and also crosses the dam.
Paint bucket drummer Justin is one crazy badass with some insane skill. Not only does he play drums on paint buckets but he is one extremely talented graffiti artist as well.

Although the BR green class 37 on the rear of this set is popular, viewed from this end, the train is visually more pleasing, with the off-white roof and white bodyside embellishments of the class 47 matching the largely white coaching stock.

A swift about turn after taking the previous shot allowed me to compose for a stab at the 6M60 Seaton on Tees - Sellafield.
I knew that 37059 & 57310 were working it but was unaware which was leading. I was expecting the payload to be the usual one or two FNAs so was somewhat aghast to discover that a lone unladen PFA was the sole constituent of the consist.
From this viewpoint it is dramatically obvious just how much destruction of the C&WJR track-bed has been wrought since the line's closure.
As can be evidenced from the parapet spacing of the foreground bridge the Moss Bay branch was double track here, although from approximately the position of the oncoming walkers it became single and ran up across the main line via an overbridge at the bottom of Shore Road. Pointwork just this side of that bridge enabled access to the Moss Bay steelworks.
The power of the sea has also been demonstrated by the undermining of the buttresses of this foreground bridge.
What could at first glance be mistaken for chalk cliffs are the now "landscaped" steelworks slag banks.
