...a frosty morning in Bavaria / Germany / Europe / Earth

Thanks a lot for your kind comments!

better in large

if

possible!!

The coldest day so far that I was out on the mountain with the camera.

The thermometer showed not quite minus 20 ° Cersius.

The sensor stains were caused by cleaning the day before and the extreme cold that day.

I would like to thank you very much for

all comments, awards and faves!

Unfortunately it is not possible for me to

thank everyone personally.

Many greetings from the Tyrol,

the ❤️ of the Alps.

It's minus 8 and the rocks are slippery with ice, my hands are freezing but it doesn't matter, 'cos I'm very excited by the lighting and the wonderful view !

Pictured in this second to last shot of my Netherlands series is the Munttoren or Mint tower in one the busier squares of the city the Muntplein, originally it was part of the city walls and looked very different to the tower we see today a very ornate carillon clock and passageway between the flower market and the eastern end of Kalverstraat.

The Regulierspoort, was a complex of two towers and a gateway into the city , it was completed in 1487 only to lose its function in 1585 as Amsterdam expanded and the city walls moved far beyond the complex’s usefulness.

The Regulierspoort burned in 1618 and only the west tower was rebuilt in 1620 in almost its current state minus the name Munttoren, the name was adopted after Amsterdam temporarily started producing coins in 1672 when both Dordrecht and Enkhuizen the mints of the day were under occupied French rule.

I took this on Sept 10th, 2017 with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 28mm 6 sec f/9 ISO100 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz , Luminar and DXO

Glennallen Alaska at 31 degrees below zero - at 11:15 AM.

Life goes on despite the chill in the air, and compared to towns north of us - we are downright balmy.

Fun morning out in the mud. I was (almost) assaulted by three raccoons. Surprised, I jumped ripping my cable release right out of my camera body. Those dam critters.

For someone who shoots a lot of macro I don’t do ‘bug work’.

Going to do some practice with my new macro and hopefully improve! Trying some diffused flash modifications (can't remember the last time I used my flash gun)

It was minus 3 when we went out this morning for a walk. It was quite a quick one but at least we got out of the house. That's frost on the ground

Hannah, Peter, Nick and Anita really look up to me,

A hard January frost at Mill Farm in Staple Fitzpaine, Somerset.

“Just because the soul sits in perpetual peace does not mean that the faculties of sense and reason do, or the passions. There are always wars going on in the other dwellings of the soul. There is no lack of trials and exhaustion. But these battles rarely have power any more to unseat the soul from her place of peace.”
