The coldest day so far that I was out on the mountain with the camera.
The thermometer showed not quite minus 20 ° Cersius.
The sensor stains were caused by cleaning the day before and the extreme cold that day.

My Flickr friends know that I don't do black & white very often although I usually like it when I see it in other people's photos. It's just that my own b&w photos always seem to look dull. This photo of Cleo was taken in very bright light and the colours, especially the colour of the lawn had a strange colour. I tried to correct the colours in Photoshop but no matter what I did, the result wasn't what I hoped it would be. Converting the photo into into b&w was therefore the last attempt to rescue a capture which I otherwise would have deleted.
We were out all day today and when we came home... I had 7 Black Swallowtail that eclosed.... sadly one had to be euthanized....
5 female / 2 male (-1)
Most flew off before I could get a picture, but these three hung around for quite a while...
To date I have released 7.... 5F - 2M
Best seen on black (by pressing L) to have larger view!

Fun morning out in the mud. I was (almost) assaulted by three raccoons. Surprised, I jumped ripping my cable release right out of my camera body. Those dam critters.
