For those who like desert racing, the classic Mint 400 race will be coming up in March. Spectating is hard because of the dust, getting a press pass may be the way to get some good pix of air underneath cars and trucks (and gators and atv's and ?).
Jean Dry Lake can be seen right center and the course goes around and over it.
That road is paved for a mile or two and has been used as part of the course (it changes some every year). No dust.

The Mint 400 has has been one of the toughest, most spectacular off-road races in North America since 1968 when it was first run.
The weather for the 2018 Mint 400 on March 10th was cloudy and rain fell during the race. The race consists of three laps on a 119-mile course outside Jean, Nevada on BLM land.

The Mint 400 is an annual desert off road race that was resumed in 2008 after a 20 year hiatus. The race was for both motorcycles, until 1977, and four-wheel vehicles (buggies, cars and trucks) sponsored by Del Webb's Mint Hotel and Casino. Del Webb, a well known builder and friend of Howard Hughes, was owner of the Mint Hotel in downtown Las Vegas. It became known as The Great American Desert Race.
